5 gallon buckets?

OK... heard this from an old timer.... when wheelin on the beach he carries a 5 gallon bucket with him.... at the point of wheel spin and possible getting stuck, off to the shore line, 5 gallons water around each wheel with a "runway" out for each... claims he has never been stuck in the sand using this....

Any of ya'll do this?

No but water definitely makes sand firmer.

YES IT WORKS........

Great to build sand castles and use a seat to sit and stare at your jeep while you wait for someone to come recover you.

Really though... not sure ...take a buddy with a vehicle and a tow strap to the beach. Get your jeepy stuck and test the theory. What do you have to loose?

Well wet sand is deff. not as soft and dry sand so Im sure your tires wont sink down as far. I have never really been in a situation where I needed to be extracted from sand so Im not real sure but my guess is that it would help.

Depending on how far you are to the shore, 20 gallons is heavy . Definitely will work if not high centered...
