a little to rough this weekend

so, we had a bunch of guys head out to haspin acres again this weekend. i was the only guy running a mostly stock rig - of which included my stock gsa's.surprsingly i went most everywhere they did and surprised everyone, including myself with the capabilities of the stock I4 jeep. but, i ran into one trouble spot. it was just to steep and a bit to muddy. i slipped out and put my passenger side front corner into a tree. i had to get winched up the hill a bit to free myself from the tree, then winched all the way back down as i couldn't get grip anywhere. i shouldn't have attempted the descent on stock tires, but live and learn. i guess it's time now to pick up my new tires that i've been pushing off.

oh, i also learned that when i replace this bumper with a Warn or Kilby or something much stronger than the stocker... i will not be mounting my lights on it. haha.

when i woke up and and hopped in the jeep about 7 in the am on sunday, my jeep looked something like this:

when i got home, it looked more like this.. lol

haha - we have matching fenders
it's my excuse to add flat fenders on my never ending to-do list
sounds like you had fun, though

HA, hell yeah. Flat fenders and a new bumper are all you need to clear that up. Hell every dent for me means new toys for the rig.

nah.. i think a couple minutes with the buffer should take care of it. haha!

the first thing i want to get is better tires (working on that now) so it doesn't happen again, followed by a beefed up bumper, side mirror mounts for my KC's, a replacement KC and then flat fenders.

It's not a dent....it's a memory! Great job with the stock though...And those G.et S.tuck A.nywheres will get you every time when things start getting tricky!

hahaha i'm going to have to agree with you on the matching fenders and add to the list. lol i kinda put my jeep in a "meteorite hole" is how i like to describe it. and i love jeeps b/c even after doing that all i did was bend my right front fender a little bit. but yeah sounds and looks like you had a good time. and yeah stock wranglers are pretty neat, and i suggest if your going to get new tires, get some BFG Mud Terrains.

yeah, i'm looking at a set of 31" Firestone Destination MT's. got a deal i just can't pass up including 5 tires mounted on 5 wheels - all are almost new.

and the stock jeep is very surprising. i put it through the ringer on this trip and it took it like a champ. (good thing a friend of mine is a certified spotter, haha and him as well as my other friend know the terrain of haspin like the back of their hands) had to get towed a couple times, but we all did, lol. it will be worlds better with some mudders though. can't wait to run it then.

x3 on the matching fenders as well, i tried to run up a tree on a narrow pass i was up on it and it was bent over and as I almost cleared it I slipped off and it straightened up getting stuck between my bumper and fender. We had to actually hacksaw the tree to get unstuck.

You need to get out the angle grinder and make your own flat fenders. Just cut off everything from the bend down, The dent will be long gone. The Destinations will be a great improvement over what you got. Sounds like you had a great time, it is always important to get that first dent.

Sorry, you fall into the catagory. I'm fairly sure that if you look close at your driver's license, there's a special number that denotes the "freakishly tall" status that is yours.

Five one is normal. Normal height. The rest of you people need to curb your growing. Shoulda taken up smoking or something to stunt that freakish height gain.
