A Little Weekend Wheelin

Last weekend a few of us met out east of town to hit a couple of trails. The agenda was for us to run Ecstasy and Axle Alley. All five rigs were plenty built for the trails, but wouldn't you know that two of us blow'd up. Lance snapped his trac bar, but thanks to Joe and some good trail welding he was back in the game. Then on Axle Alley I proved that the trail lived up to its name and blew up my drivers side ujoint, inner and outer, and ball joints. Thanks to some ingenuity and the jeep falling off the jack once we got it back on the trail and all made it home. It was a great day out, good friends, mean rocks, and we had 2 catastrophic breaks, but still ran two 4.0-4.5 trails in 6 hours.

It was a Rubicon Express 1660 Trac Bar. It was the biggest piece of junk trac bar we've ever seen. I think I have stronger stock laying in my garage to make a trac bar with. Looking at the insides after it broke we swear we saw a seem meaning it was HREW. We could be wrong and it was just something from the break that stressed the rest of it, but it sure looked like a seam to me. It's better than new now. I bet Lance runs on that for a few months until he gets something different.

The boys seem to really like the bias Crawlers. Now it's on to the competition compound.

Axel don't you ever sell that beast my friend. Just keep it in the garage and use it when you can. You will HATE yourself if you sell it.
