i think during the winter months they don't have to worry about running out of space. i am going to make a reservation anyway just to be sure.

the hubby just told me that reservations dont need to be made for the weekend. you only have to make a reservation if you are going to camp and wheel on a Monday-Thursday.

Rich, you can get up there at whatever time you want on friday. they are on spring/summer hours now so they open at 8:00am. if you get up there first can you reserve all of us a space near the bathrooms like last time?

Are you sure about that? This is straight off the website. It looks like you dont need reservations to wheel on the weekend but do to wheel on week days and that you have to make reservations for all camping!

Open Year Round:

April - November, open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays without the need to make a reservation. Monday - Thursday open by reservation. All camping is by reservation.

those tires look nasty!

Jgano let me know what Lynn says about the camping and reservations when she gets back to you.

And yes if i get up there early I will do my best to get a good spot. Unless they give a predetermined section.

this is the email that i sent her, and her response:

I got your phone message tonite. It's actually easier through e-mail.
Here is our camping memo to explain about camping and checking in to go
wheeling. If you have any questions let me know.

This is what you need to know. All camping is to the right of the
driveway in the designated area. The rules are posted at the potties and
at some of the sites. Basically, clean up your area when done, pack out
your trash, use the designated firerings in the tent sites (don’t set up a
ring of rocks in the parking lot!), no large fires or fireworks. Don’t
move the firerings around or put them together in bunches to have a big
fire. Don’t burn pallets or other wood with nails in it.

You're allowed on the property the night before for camping, you can come
and go out the driveway as needed, but don't go driving around the comp
course or onto the trails. If you get there before dark, you may see
others wheeling, but they should have paid earlier in the day to go
wheeling.

The office will be open the following morning starting at 8 a.m. for
everyone in your group to get registered. If you are new to the park,
you’ll need drivers and passengers to come up and register. The
membership form requires driver’s license and vehicle info from everyone,
even the passengers.

We recently clarified our policy on alcohol as follows: Anyone observed
drinking and driving will permanently lose their membership privileges and
their affiliated club will be sanctioned. No alcohol is allowed on the
property except for the camping area. Alcohol may be consumed only AFTER
you are done wheeling for the day and only in the camping area. Do not
walk around the comp course with alcohol. Do not drive around the trails
with alcohol in your vehicle, leave it at camp.

Thank you.

i just sent her this email and am waiting on her response:
Quote:
Lynn,

Thanks for getting back to me. I would like to know if it is ok if my group camps overnight on Friday? There are going to be 6 Jeeps and 1 trailer (11 people and 5 tents). We are going to wheel on Saturday and Sunday so we would like to camp until then. I will see to it that the campsite is left in the same (if not better) condition than we found it. We like to tread and camp lightly.

Thanks,
Jessica Gano

Whoa your name is Jessica Gano, so thats where your handle comes from.

Well that settles it, first come first serve so the first person will have to save the others spots.

actually no. that actually is a coincidence. i was an avid softball player all of my life and my number was "23" it is just kind of my number. i use it for a lot of things. my email is "jwarn23" ("warn" is a derivative of my maiden name) using the "23" usually makes the user name unique so i don't have to spend 15 mins trying to find one that is not already taken. so, that is my life story. any more questions?

yes, and you can tell us there the "5551" comes from. i am going to take a wild guess, but the "SB" stands for Sean Bishop?

Guess I'm not as creative of you. The 5551 is because it was chosen for me by AOL back when you still had to pay for like 200 minutes and it stuck.
