AZ - Upper Woodpecker - Florence Junction area

today a large group of about 15 jeeps met in Florence Junction to try some trails. There was a good variety of wheelers and was alot of fun although some parts were quite long waiting to get a turn on the obsticles (I was tailgunner) or to even just finish the trail... its a LONG trail for 15 jeeps and most were pretty new to jeeping. But alot of fun.

Heres some photos from one of the people who were there who brought their camera...

Missed Jack (1blkjp) and FatBob out there but they wouldve been bored I think.

Ben

I've never wheel'd there before, would you say lockers are needed?

Looks like a blast though!

probably half of the jeeps out there today didnt have lockers. There are alot of bypasses to most of the obsticles that alot of them chose to use.

Edit: but even just a limited slip would help someone make it up and over the fun stuff... i forgot to activate my lockers and made it through Firehole unlocked, but the rubicon rear locker also has a limited so I think that helped me alot

Yeah - I did Payette all the way to the filter at the falls and I have 32's and a lsd in the rear. I just want some kind of tub protection like rocker guards before I do some of the stuff down there like that.

I wanted to wheel but I had to make sure I was home for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Thats one of the first trails I did in a jeep.

I wanted to wheel, but knew at 12:30 Friday night that bad things were coming so I texted Bob and told him I wouldn't be there. I ended up getting home closer to daylight than I would've liked.

Looks like you all had a blast Ben.

I didn't see any pics of Benber. Did they make it? Ah, also see that Chuck made it out with his CJ. I always like wheelin with him and his wife.

This was the first time I had wheeled with Chuck. A very nice guy and his CJ is awesome.

Here are some more pics from George and Dianes camera...

http://rides.webshots.com/album/561478446KMbiAi

The hodges were there... was the first time I met them. I talked to her and she is more convinced then ever now that lockers are way overrated because they made it through windshield rock unscathed

We'll definately have to get out there to FJ again soon and hit some of the harder trails. Are you guys going on Hucks (David) Black Friday TM trail runs? Should be good.

See ya,

Ben

You should have seen the way Ben(Amber's husband) was bashing on every rock they could get a tire on at Payette.... and I don't know if I like either of them.
