a stock wrangler is very capable at the badlands.. make sure you get recovery gear.. spare parts are good to bring (ex axle shafts) just in case..

True but I want to go into place were I can roll her! haha. I really just want a squared away jeep that is fun to drive and well I can decide to just go left when I want and see where I end up. I am working on getting a winch new front bumper and a lift with some 33's. I just hope the axles can handle that. With the knowledge of the guys and gals coming I may bring the front and rear new axles and gears and might have a repair party in the lot! haha

heh.. my first trip there i had stock axles (lp30/d35) and my jeep help up with 33s just fine..

now that i got my hp30/d44 combo... i have no fear in runnin my 33s

heck last trip we took i did a complete front axle swap the morning i left to go meet everyone down there..

i was in such a hurry i bolted the shocks in and forgot to tighten the bolts down.. i had to run to the napa in attica to get some more bolts/nuts because i lost mine on the way there.. and the ride there sucked

I had 33's on a 30/35 set up for a long time too and was fine. You'll go most places like that. I'll be on locked full widths and bouble beadlocked 36's for this trip though, if anyones gonna be rolling it it will probably be me

if you're rollin on 33's you'll do great, wheel smart, follow some of the smarter wheelers and you won't break anything. if you don't have the money by then, slap a budget boost under it and some 31's or so. even stock you'll have a blast.

you're still gonna be the camera guy

yah.. dave did take his xj up some pretty crazy stuff.. you could definitely tell by the end of the day.. he had a busted taillight and the whole passenger side of the jeep was trashed =D

funny thing was i was behind him when he did both and i laughed my @$$ off when the light busted out lol..

dave what size tires were you running 235s or 245s?

and to let you know jd.. my jeep is more capable with my lift setup and 33s than my gfs jeep with 4'' of lift and 35s.. and neither are locked

those tires are 265's, measure 31" and the tail light was no big deal, slipped off that rock and i knew i was cutting that angle close. but the side bugs me, i don't know where it happened. i still didn't break anything, thats the point.

but thanks for bringing that up
