Co2 tank refills location and prices

Ive been calling around to get my Co2 tank refilled. One guy that I spoke to told me that no one does refills anymore because they would have to ship out the tank for a couple days to do it and that everyone does swaps instead. Another company told me that their price for swap was around 22$ plus tax. Now Ive seen on this forum and others that people are getting refills for around 12$. Are people still able to refill tanks and at what cost, or is the swap only rumor true?

Do you have a welding supply store? I dont run CO2, but I have filled my MIL's CO2 for her keg and I wanna say it cost me somewhere around 10-$15. I dont remember exactly how much...its been a while but they did refill for me.

Here in n/w Florida we use a fire extinguisher supply place. The price is about 15 bucks. I don't want a steel tank so no exchange. Check beverage factory for decent tank prices.

It was a ten # steel co2 tank. Haha a brew store should have been top on my list.

A welding supply shop was what I went to. They said hey only did swaps and so did all the other welding supply shops I called around to.

I read that somewhere else and did a search around my location for fire extinguisher supply houses and it came up empty.
