Haha, I can already see what this trip is gonna be like...lots of semi lame jokes and a super good time. By the way, same friend with the stroker just sold his rear axle and is putting an 8.8 in with ls. His rig is gonna be mroe built than mine

I resemble that remark!!!

Easy fix on the parts....you need to go buy more / better parts than he has. Just rob some old ladys, or take little kids piggy banks...That's what I do, or just go steal the parts off someone elses Jeep!!!

Good choice, we cant lose sight.

So I hooked up the electric to the motor in my rear bucket seat and installed the seat belt again. So now the person in the back has it stylin. Also moved my CB from under my seat (where I could never see what channel I was on) to where my head unit was. Then moved that to a custom little diamond plate bracket I made for it. Mounted it tight up against the underside of the dash on the passenger side (out of sight out of mind for potential theifs, because I usually go places with my top off). Lastly, moved the rock course around a little...WAY more challenging now. Gouged my front drive shaft up a bit on one section of it and was VERY close to flopping it.

Don't break your junk before the trip, save that for the trip.

Sorry to hear you will not be making it, there will be lots of pictures and I am sure there will be a funny story or two.

Hopefully we can hook up at some other time.

Will have to get over there and have a look at this course!

The whole trip is going to be a funny story! It sucks that some of you guys cant come but its gonna happen again, dont you worry about that.

Jeeperman-Well my rig isnt exactly as built as yours so it will probably be easier for you but its fun to mess around on anyway. You should deffinatley come and check it out though. Its kinda short but if you get bored with that then you can always try to cross the swamp...and that is by no means easy. I almost made it at the shallower end last time but burried myself about 5 ft. from the end. Just shoot me a pm if you ever wanna check it out. I also have a few wheeling spots around here that are pretty good when my house gets old.

Guys, I just found out today I have to have surgery on my shoulder on 8-8. Dr. is saying a minimum of 21 days in a sling / cast. This is not looking good for me!

I agree, this better be a sick and twisted joke. I think September is a much better month to get shoulder surgery.

No joke, all kidding aside!!! The ironic part of the whole thing is that I tore my shoulder up working on the Rubiclone in January...how's that for a kick in the sack??

I have tore my "big word here", on the back of my shoulder. This caused my "big word here" fluid to leak / drain from the ball and socket joint in the shoulder, which in-turn caused a cyst (sp?), inside my shoulder. Now the ball part of the shoilder joint is rubbing against the socket part of the shoulder joint.
Dr. is going to go in, repair the tear, drain / clean the cyst (sp?), and shave the bone down on the ball part of the shoulder joint....Sounds fun huh???

I will keep you guys in the loop as to what is going on....I still might be able to go...

Still make the trip up there, bring Rubiclone with you, and I will drive you around on the trails.

There, problem solved.

Guys, I am just bummed the hell out!!!

I hate to miss out, but if you guys only knew the pain that I deal with on an every day basis...you would be wanting it done soon as well, plus I don't want to mess up more than I have by putting this off...

I may still be able to make it though...I will just have to see what the Dr. says, and how I feel...This really sucks.

Trust me man, I want you to get fixed up asap. I really do understand how you feel sadly enough. I injured my knee extremely bad almost a year ago and I can hardly walk some days. After 2 sets of x-rays I am now going to get a cat scan on August 6th and I am prepared for them to tell me I need surgery. I know that I have ground the cartiledge up pretty good and I assume the ligaments are torn but we'll see what they say. I also either pulled a muscle or ruptured a disc in my back because I cant bend over without wincing in pain. So by all means, dont feel like we want you to keep from getting fixed up. Even so, you should come hang out and camp if the doctor OK's it.

I know about the knee surgery all too well....had 4 surgeries on the R knee..first two were scope type, the third was invasive, with lots of cutting, and the fourth and final....They replaced the whole damn thing...sawed the bone off the top and bottom, installed a SS knee joint..drove big rods into the bones in my leg and pinned it in...I looked like a damn robot for 6 months....

I talked to Taz about coming down for a day or something. he said he had a vacant passenger seat if I wanted to use it. i may come in for a day and a night and ride with some of you guys, camp that night, and head back the next day....Damn this SUCKS!!!!

Why not just meet me in Atlanta, you can park your truck at my place, and then we can ride up together and you can spend the weekend.

I think that is a better plan. Then you don't have to drive the 12+ hours, you can just "Hang out".

I would like to stay the whole weekend, but I have to be back at the house to "entertain". Ya see, since my wife was not going to be able to go with me, I invited my sister to go. She took time off work, bought a round trip plane ticket from Dallas Tx to B'ham, and will be flying in on Aug 21st. Since she did all of that to come on a Jeep ride that I probally wont be able to go on...I kinda owe it to her to be around the house for the majority of the time she is here. make sense?

If I can't drive my own heap, I will probally just drive up on friday morning 8-22 very early, meet up with you guys, ride for the day, hang out that night, and roll back early Sat morn 8-23.

Damn Tony, this is just my luck. I could fall in a 55 gallon drum of boobies, and come out sucking my thumb!!!

Well, its official, Im selling my TJ. My first vehicle was a ZJ that I built and wheeled in high school and I sold it because I wanted a Rubicon. Then I just couldnt find one cheap enough and I got a good deal on my TJ so I took it. After a little more than a year I still enjoy it but I now make a little more money and I figure I will be makeing payments on a vehicle one way or another so I might as drive what I want. Not sure if I can have it sold and grab a Rubicon before the trip but we'll see. I will have a Jeep there either way but Im not sure what it will be now!
