Well I just started reading the posts on this last night and have read allmost all of them so by the way my name is Sherman.I am thinkin this is going to be real cool.I have talkted to my son(15yrs old) allready and he is all syced up on the idea of course he has done mentioned takin the quads(his Z400 and my KFX700).I think they will stay home this time though.I would be on the beginner trails though My rig has a lot of toys but not much for bute protection. It has 33x12.5 Mickey Thomsons,2.5" budget lift with 1" body,10,000lb winch,T-case drop but other than for bells and whistles the belly is stock, diffs stock,no sliders other than the door glassessoooo anyway I am not afaird of the dirt/mud and trails by no means but big bolders like in the one video on this thread is not for me but yeah Lord willing and the creek don't rise I will be there.Oh wait scratch out the creek riseing part I think I seen somewere on here of a jeep in a pretty deep creek.Oh Thanks to Tazmann for showing this to me.

Sherman thanks for checking this out, we would love to have you and your son come out.

From what I understand there are trails that you will be very happy with given your current set up.

Glad to have you.

Sorry if this is redundant, but I just found this thread and was wondering what are the dates of the trip????

It sounds like it gonna be a great event.

Im going to have to work fast as soon as I get out of school for the summer if Im going to finish for the trip. I want to have a bit of time to test it all out too and make sure I trust everything for the trip there. Taz, you got any plans for the rig before the trip?

Funny you should ask, in the next few weeks I will be installing a SYE and new rear driveshaft, 4.56 gears, and either a super 35 kit or a full D44 axle swap, and maybe a front locker....I have to keep up with you and Cherokee..

Last weekend I put in the new HD Tie Rod and Drag Link and love it.

And by August, who knows what else will be done to the rig.

Sounds good, we wouldnt wanna leave ya behindI just got an old scuba tank from my dad a while back and now Im gonna get it filled and throw a regulator on it...viola, on board air. But I have bigger fish to fry. In 3 months Im going to have to swap both D60's under my TJ, build long arms for it, do an electric fan conversion, build my rear swing out bumper, swap a 4.0L stroker motor into my buddys YJ and convert that thing to fuel injection, and install a sye and cv shaft in my rig too. Then, if theres even a smigen of time left Im gonna build myself a new front trac bar and some more heavy duty steering. Id do knuckle over but by that point I think Im gonna be a little too tired of building stuff to do the extra work. Mind you between all of that Im going to be trying to get ahold of a black dash and some new wet okle black seat covers so I can get rid of the ugly factory tan interior AND paint my hard top black too. Of course, thats not gonna get used again till winter. In the summer I live by the no doors rule and just recently got a bikini top from my g/f so that will be strapped on for the warm season

So yesterday, the buddy who was holdin my rear axle for me until summer said that he needed the money really bad and someone had just bought it. But he ensured me he would get me another one. I was a little pissed but nothing I could really do. Now I may just pull a matched set of 60's out of a 79' F250. Becasue the rear end he had for me was a dodge and the front end Im getting is a ford. Might make it easier.

If you are looking for a "shop monkey" and you are doing the work in Pinckney, drop me a line, and I can come down and give you a hand with whatever. I can turn a wrench, just not run a welder... Good luck with getting it all done in time!

Im sure I will take you up on that offer on more than one occasion when summer is here. I have this constant feeling that my axles will go under pretty simple and even my long arm build wont be so bad, but that stroker has me a little worried. Its no problem to drop it in and get it hooked up. But Im not much when it comes to electrical and I know we have to install the wiring harness and computer from a 4.0L because his 4.2L isnt fuel injected obvisiouly. I appreciate the offer though and I will certainly take you up on that.

Cant let this slip too far down or we'll lose it and have to search around! Besides, I think this is the furthest this thread has gone down since it was started. But I gotta make this post constructive so everyone throw a pic up of the rig they are taking on the trip. Then if it doesnt look like the way its going to on the trip, also post what you plan to do before then.

Here it is :

[IMG][/IMG]

As it stands now, 4in skyjacker lift, 33x12.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ's, POS tube bumpers, side steps, and kc's.

It very well could be the same set up for the trip, or it may have some decent bumpers, a winch, and possibly D44's, it all depends on how many other toys I decide to buy between now and then.

As she stands: 4" skyjacker, 33" Pro Comp Muds, home built rock rails, M8000 winch, some 100W lights on the windshield, home bored throttle body, intake, winchin gear, exhaust.

By the trip: Set of Dana 60's from a 79' F350 w/4.10 gears left full width, front will be welded, rear will probably be a full spool or Detroit locker, all home made brackets, home built swing out rear bumper, home built long arms (keepin the old coils), 3 link front and triangulated 4 link rear (remove rear trac bar), Rancho 9000 shocks, custom built oba from an old scuba tank, taurus electric fan conversion, custom belly up skid to go with the long arms, SYE and Tom Woods drive shaft, 1" bl and mml. Lastly, if I find a good enough deal a set of 37 or 36" Iroks most likely (otherwise yes, Im runnin 33's on the D60's). Oh yea, also probably gonna build a new trac bar if I some how find the time...
