Gatlinburg Area Trails

Just got back from vacation. Took the wife and the Jeep to the Smoky Mountains. Took every "off road" trail I could find. Parsons Branch, Rich Mntn Rd, heintooga Rd...the one I really wanted to do, Balsam Mountain Rd was closed for "government budget cuts." Got her as muddy as I could, though. Then a few stream crossings washed most of it off. The best one is Parsons Branch Rd. Its 11 miles, one way, up and down. Pretty steep in a few spots and some big ravines if you look down. Definitely can't be driven in a car... need a little ground clearance in a few spots.

Nice to know. We like to visit that same area. Looks like a good time!
