Been to Hardrock a few times and have some pics on here from the trips. FYI the FL4WD campout is the weekend of January 17th which I am already committed to attending. I am good for any other weekend.

That weekend would work for us. I don't need a break unless my rig breaks I finally got all my Kentucky damage taken care of lol. We might camp at hardrock or www.lakeintheforest.com <--- nice place with a rec. hall and a kitchen everyone can use thats indoors.

So I'm looking for a great "first time" experience... The video of the rolled Jeep kind of scared me some though.. any thoughts on this being a good "first time" experience?

Perfect first time... it is mild wheelin w/ some good hill climbs. that guy in the video completely turned his wheel the wrong way???If it rains you will need good tires and locked to climb.it is a small park so no big deal.

I went with the group on here to Black Mountain and then hit Jeeptoberfest after that. Repairs have been made now though. lol Snapped my pitman arm yesterday which is now fixed also. That lake place has furnished cabins also which are nice fyi.

Good first time place but, please make sure you have front and rear recovery points.

I have the hooks bolted on the front, but does the trailer hitch in the back count as a "recovery point"?

If I had to chose one over the other Black Mountain is it!!! River Rock is a good time but smaller and privately owned. I also might be hitting River Rock in April with my group. River Rock being closer helps also lol

I don't have anything scheduled, I might just drive up for the day and find you guys at Hardrock or be there when they open.

Looks Like the trip will be the 10th and 11th @ Hardrock and Possibly the Ocala National Forest as well.
The jk-forum persons are putting this together if you want to slide over and take a look. The thread is in the "sunshine state" area.
I will post final details here and possibly start a new thread as well!

Hardrock is very close to the 80 mile ORV trial in Ocala. I helped mark some of that trail. It is hunting season though, not the best time to go there.
