Question Good Rides Near Franklin, NC

I've been stalking WF for a while, but this is my first post/question. BTW, I love the forum and all the good information you can find in here. That's why I wanted to ask. And, before I start, let me say that I did try searching for the answer to this question. If the answer is in here, I just didn't have time to dig deeply enough to find it.

The question is about riding near Franklin, North Carolina. My step-dad and I were going to ride motorcycles up there, but we thought the Jeep would be much more fun (of course!). He's got us a reservation at Standing Indian Campground, and we have the map from the National Park Service of the area, where it shows unpaved roads and things like that.

What I was hoping to find out is if there are any good rides that didn't exactly make the map We're not looking to do any real serious off-roading--nothing that needs real expertise, or guarantees getting stuck. But, we'd love to take a trail or two (or five or six) that not just anybody would venture down.

We're not super familiar with the area. He's been before on a bike a couple of times. I've never been. Like I said, we've got the NPS map. If anyone knows of anything, I'd love and appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I actually lived in Franklin County, NC until about three months ago. Little ways from Johnston County, but still.

there's definitely some places in or around Franklin county... I'm thinking between the Youngsville area and even into Wake Forest (Page Rd., etc.), you should be able to find some offroad places to wheel a little bit.

Unfortunately, I'm not local to the area but I'm sure some people should be able to chime in and help you out. I've got a buddy that's from Youngsville and I've seen some of his pics on facebook so I know there's a few areas somewhere local to that area. Even here on wf you'll find folks talking about Page Rd., etc., which isn't too far from Franklin County.

Good Luck on your search bro.

Thanks, Rockafella, but I was just saying that I used to live in Franklin County. I'm going to Franklin, NC, near Murphy, in the mountains. Although, I didn't know many places in Franklin County when I lived there, so I wish I'd heard of Page Road a while back!
