Most events have dif sections for every level from stock to buggy. You should be fine but just remember to check out the list of what is required to participate and listen to the trail guides.
I have been an on and off trail guide for them for several years.. 31's will be fine.. I have taken several stock groups with 205's before.. so 31's are great. Yes, the cost does keep a fair amount of people from going on the trips, but if you can afford to go one, give it a try, its a good way to meet fellow jeepers and see some trails you might not have access to other wise.
sorry to jump in on your convo but i guess i cant start a new thread yet.
I'm a new B to the site and new to the Jeep world (just bought my first one), but an avid off roader.. not rock star Jeep style, but enough to get to where i need / want to go. I really look forward to joining the Jeep family.
2 new b questions -
1. is it ok to try and buy / sell / trade jeep parts and pieces on the forum?
as in, if i had some new nitto 37" mud grapplers and i wanted to sell them is it cool to offer them up? I didn't see a classified section am i missing something?
2. if it is cool what is the best approach to do so ? new thread etc

you can sell thing on the forum, there is a classified section, however you have to have a post count of 15(i think its 15) to access it. i think its to keep spamers from filling the classifieds section clogged up with adds.
Yeah, I'd love to do one, French Lick is about an hour maybe from me, but the price for 4 is pretty steep.... :-/ I have heard wonderful things about them tho'.... If you can afford it I'd recommend it, based on the responses from people I know who've done it, and the fact that they go year after year is proof enough that it must be worth it!
I had no clue you were a guide 4Jeepn! Cool beans!
It is kind of high. But I took the cheaper package without the meals. Figured I can just eat at home or pack a lunch since I am only a couple minutes from the French lick event.
LOL! We go to Disney every year. It ain't cheap. I'm signing up for the 17th Pine Barrens Jamboree (end of October). I have a stock 2000 TJ Sahara. With 30" street tires. Planning on upgrading my rear bumper to a Smittybilt with D-ring anchors. Already have front hooks. Will also be getting new tires - probably 31x10.5R15. Will be my first Jamboree, I'm a real newb at offroading, even though I've owned Jeeps since 1993. Question: Since I use my TJ as a DD in the summer and winter, mostly on street, will I be better off with all terrain or mud terrain tires? I am a little concerned over things I have read about mud terrain tires on fresh snow, which we get from time to time in Maryland. For the Jamboree, I will be more interested in mud than rocks (assuming I can get assigned to the lower-rated trails as a newb).
You might want to check out the the BFG AT, those are sort of the standard in ATs. Also check at the wrangler authority at walmart @130ish a tire and seems to be decent from reviews. It has a nice look to it. I also had a good esperience on and off road with dueler at's.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
