I used to live in Fairfax. The short answer is there are no legal public trails in Northern VA that I know of. Check out the VA forum for other places to wheel that aren't too far away. I off roaded and still do off road at George Washington National Forest and at Rausch Creek in Tremont, PA. Good luck, tread lightly!

Check out redcloudoffroad.com. They are in Lorton Va and have a nice trail system setup.

Have heard of a good trail in Manassas Park on the river off of Old Centreville Rd by the 7-11 gas station and trailer park. You're supposed to jump the curb and head down the trial to the river; at fork left is difficult, rt is moderate. Got this info from a Finance Mgr at a local Isuzu dealership Anybody heard of it?

This is also not legal to run unless you have permission and by running it gives wheeling a bad name. Just pay the $30 and go to RedCloud so maybe some more places can open due to the fact that the wheeling community is responsible and not a bunch a derelicts.

Was told this trail is legal as it is considered a county road ( signage) and is primarily used by fisherman. Saw part of trail from 28 bridge today and there are road signs on it, no derelicts visible.

Your call but anywhere that you have to jump a curb sounds less than legal to me. You risk losing your rig so its up to you!

Can see your point, the curb might not be the right access point. I don't live too far from it, I'll try and check it out this weekend

Access is on 28S immediately after Bridge, pull onto BP to get on road down to river , no curb jumping. I talked to a couple of 4 xs at BP and they said never had a problem. I could t find a PW police officer to ask about it Ingess looked well traveled. I'll try again tomorrow

been on this trail before
the one to left behind the antique shop was awesome but has been turned into a townhome community. the one behind bp requires no curb hopping and is a bit crazy. someone has chopped a tree down that now blocks the entrance. just climb it. be careful though my buddys lifted jk got stuck bad back there

happy trailing

They cut the tree to keep vehicles out. That is private land.
