Little AZ Wheelin Today

So Joe (Absolute Offroad), a friend of ours Ben (Sliver Rubicon), and myself set out to chew some rocks and have a good time. Joe and I took his motorhome out there last night and ran a trail just for the hell of it. Ben met us this morning about 8 and we got to work.

Here's a general random pic from this morning.

The first trail we ran today is called Axle Alley and it can live up to it's name if you aren't patient and know the limits of your rig. The first waterfall is probably 9 or 10 ft tall. Joe is the only one of us that drove it without taking cable. I didn't get a good pic of him on it because I was too busy yelling when he drove it.

And here's Ben and myself when we had to take the cable. You can get a better view of how big this fall is.

We all pretty much drove the other two big falls so here are some random pics from the rest of the trail where we thought they were interesting.

The next trail we ran is called Martinez Canyon. This is a fairly famous trail here locally as it is the cause of a lot of conversation with both the OHV community and the Ecco-Terrorists. It's a great run and the mine at the top (which we left the camera in the jeep when we went walking back in) is great. We pretty much rolled thru with out stopping much so there aren't many pics of wheelin action, but you will see a nice little storm brewing when we got up to the top.

This pic if you look down in the very bottom you will see the trail winding it's way. I'd bet we climbed around a thousand vertical feet in about a mile.

Overall it was great 9 hours or so of wheelin. Good weather, a little rain and some good friends. I beat my new suspension up some and took some of it's shininess away. All of us did great with the exception of me getting pissed on Martinez because I hate just driving thru boulder fields on my 35's. Only real breakage was Ben cutting a tire and I have a non-working tail light (I think it's just low on fluid. ).

Awesome pics! Amazingly enough, an extreme 4x4 rerun yesterday morning had a segment of axel alley! Y'all should be on TV! One of these days, when my Jeep grows up, we'll have to head west!

Great pics Jack and it looks like you had a good time. I will be out with all of you soon.
BTW I heard a story about the driving of the second waterfall on Axle Alley but seeing you did not mention it I am sure it is not true

Awesome pics Jack. I think I finally have my suspension under control. A few more runs, to toughen up the nerves, and I will be ready for action, out your way. Just want to get my junk right, before I head all the way out to Phoenix. Again, Joe has come to my resque, via Jeep Outfitters, and they even went to Katemcy with me this time, to make sure their work, was good. I have got a flexing jeep for sure, now.

Yeah, that story is BS. Don't believe everything you hear. I drove that waterfall, not my fault that my jeep went up it twice.

Yup, you gotta get back out. They deliver your new toy yet?

It was definitely good times out there. Hell I can't remember many times on the trail that were bad.

Scout, I'll take that as a compliment.

Well it's taken me over 3 years to get my rig where it's at and I am still the least capable rig out of our core group of guys that wheel. But that's the fun of it.

Yes we are extremely blessed to have the great wheelin here in AZ/CO/UT/NM/CA that makes us proud of dented sheet metal.
