Making my jk truly trail rated

Hello my good friends

Last week I took my stock 08 4dr JK (with 285/70R17) to J.W Corbett park. Needless after a few water crossing and swamps passes I realized my jeep was far from the old CJ's I once owned. Especially after the final water crossing which rendered my JK useless.

So after getting a new engine, I have bought a safari snorkel, and I am investing in a lift kit (suggestion will appreciated). I would like to know what other suggestion people have for my wrangler and what are some trouble some area I should look out for when offloading.

I suggest you buy an airboat & sell the Jeep.

Don't worry about me I can take the jokes, I still believe the JK would have been fine if it had a more tucked away intake like the toyotas. Anyways the jeep made it out fine ( expect for you know "the whole hydrolock thing" ) so I don't wanna spend money on a winch just yet, I'll stick to my tow strap. But what I really wonder about is gremlins I might want to look out for in my jeep (weak points). I fell the jeep lacks a bit of power, yet I feel the the torque is pretty good, still I worry about larger tires.

Oh PS anyone want join a good group of people who will help each other on and off the trail let me know we plan to take a trip a minimum of once a month. All make and models welcome, mocking is encouraged.

My jeep didn't come with a life preserver or a trolling motor. It is a truck, not a boat. Stupid is as stupid does.

Well I don't expect much from someone who drives a baby poo green car to have much to say, However trucks are made to be pushed if not then buy a mini.
The water just went over the hood. If it had a better placed intake like the old jeeps, it would have laughed at that puddle.

Beside the point no one has offered and suggestions on what to look out for in jeep,

Has for the teraflex kit I have been looking into it and I love the bump stops they offer, right now I am leaning toward a 4" skyjacker lift.

tera flex 2.5 lift, 35s, regear. lockers, winch, body armour, new brakes, raise breather lines, add snorkel, and I dont know if there are any other ways for water to get into the JK but look into those. then have fun.

Did warranty cover your engine?

I have a set of BFgoodrich A/T but I will have to at least upgrade the size, I don't know about going for a M/T because of the type of sandy terrain in Florida, on my liberty ( yes I owed a liberty) I had commercial traction the were a nice mid point between A/T and m/T's

Sound like a plan I would like a set of locker put the arcs are almost 1g a piece. The breather I have brought up by the fire wall.

Oh and water did shoot through my air vent various time even before the last water crossing.

And no my insurance covered it my warranty said water damage is an accident not a service issue.

P.S nice YJ I buddy has on here that thing is serious
