I'm in the same boat as you. I live in Houma. I have done extensive research. The closest Jeep Trail to us is 4.5 hours from Houma.

Catahoula Recreation, Off-Road Racing, Rock Climbing, Trails for ORV, Jeeps, ATV and Dirt Bikes, catahoularecreationoffroadpark.com

Catahoula Recreation Off-Road Park 1/29/11 - Pirate4x4.Com

Happy jeeping and hope to see you there sometime!

You guys should cruise over to southern Mississippi... There's a lot of trails from Hattiesburg down south to Gulfport, Waveland to Pascagoula! I'm originally from Gulfport, and we used to ride all over there, and especially in Ocean Springs (Sunplex area). Further north, DeSoto Park and such, there's all kinds of trails. They aren't official off-road parks or anything, but if you're itching to get in the trees, it'll do you right. Hope you guys find something good down there. I miss it!

if anybody is looking for a place to go mud riding in the south my buddy is hosting a car show/ mud show. it will be April 26th in kiln, Mississippi at Texas flat off road. there's an asphalt parking lot for show cars an trucks an lots of mud pits, sand bars and trails to ride on, there is a river that borders the property. family oriented so bring the whole family out! feel free to bring your atv, side by side, mud truck or jeep out here! here is a link to the event on Facebook
