Did a 3 day trip through the mojave desert. absolute blast!!! I was invited out to go play with some guys from four wheeler mag and offroadrangers.com

we started out in Barstow Ca. and ended up in Laughling Nevada. we took 2 days to get there and 1 to come home. we stopped on the way to laughlin and saw several mines and cool sites. We really didnt take the mojave road, but every short track road we could find on the way out. so we basically just followed the road.

We averaged about 45mph throughout the trip and the jeep handled great MUCH better then i anticipated. I was able to easily keep up with the desert rangers we where with. I couldnt hit the woops as hard but it was fun none the least.

No break downs for the jeep and all the coils stayed in place. I guess my stupid limit straps worked.

The FJ did pretty crappy def not built for high speed off road other then the supercharger and low gears. the suspension in the rear was too soft, and the front was riding on the air bumps. after the first day we did some adjusting to the coilovers and air bumps and made it better, it was strapped at all four corners which helped in the woops and drop offs and the air time we all had. Its Fuel range is also horrible something like 150 miles. but it has just about everything needed for the trail. but outside of desert wheeling that thing kicks ass. 10 to 1 atlas case 39 crawlers dyna trac 60s droooooool....

that silver ranger is also a four wheel mag project truck.

DIXON bros long travel 4wd kit. deavers and bilstien remote resivoirs and front coilovers, supercharged and lots of other goodies. on the way home he blew an idler pulley and had to be towed to his trailer.

Im lovin the tires, Ive been through asuza canyon and other mud holes with no issues they clean pretty good. Im mostly in dirt sand and rocks though. so far no punctures or sidewall cuts either. (knock on wood) im pretty sure im gonna be buying these tires again. my only complain is the balancing. Im proly gonna run a set of dyna beads on the next set of tires.

I'm doin' Mojave Road with my Jeep club next weekend. We're leaving Avi Casino at 8:00am on Friday and spending two nights camping on trail. Did you cross the playa at soda springs? We've been trying to get a trail report from the rangers, but they aren't being very helpful.

Looks like you had a blast. Enjoy Pismo, sure wish I was going with you....

sorry i coulndt tell ya about the playa at soda. we did cross the dry lake with no issues. the guy that lead us didnt stop or check out the typical trail stuff. we took lots of short track roads that followed the mojave trail. the whole area though was dry and full of flowers. you guys are gonna love it.
