Never been to Rausch Creek,tips PLS

Me & a buddy plan on going out on vac the end of April.I have front & rear lockers,winch 7 skid plates.Is there anything else other than supplies for emergency repairs or anything I should know.ive never been & watching the videos on line it looks pretty tough.

plenty of trails that you can do stock.. awesome place. Camping is primitive and basically in the parking lot. Awesome place though..

I guide at Rausch for a few groups and events and Rausch can be as easy or hard as you want to make it. Green trails are very stock friendly. Blues are a little harder I usually recommend at least 31" tires. For Blacks I recommend at least 33s, skids and lockers. Unless you are trailering down there I would say stay off the reds. Larger tires and lockers make the trails easier to get through.

With my set up, JK on 33's, skids, winch and rear locker I usually run the Blue and Blue-Black trails if I am just looking to have a fun day at the park and I will run Blacks if I feel like challenging myself.

Since it is your first time there I would recommend posting up on Rausch's forum and trying to hook up with a group that is familiar with the park.

Also if a water/mud hole has a name on it you probably want to stay out of it.

Except lake christy and frog hole.. they aren't too bad..

Buddy and I learned the whole speel about water at RC just a tad bit too late. If its not named and is water it is up to 3ft. If it is named and water up to 5'... And if it says really fudging deep, well just stay out!

This pic is Sunken Treasure ... Named from when the first guy to attempt it drove through and lost his wallet, lunch, phone, etc....

Kidding aside. One side if frog hole is death for most. Lake Cristy can be done if you hug the wall. Might give it a shot on the 20th

It did. After about an hr and a half of winching him out with my jeep, we took the air filter out, pulled all the spark plugs, and kept turning her over with the plugs out to spit out as much water as we could. Dried the filter off best we could, put everything back together and after three tries, turned her over!!! Drive straight to a garage and changed all fluids. First quart and a half after we pulled the plug to change the oil was muddy water!

I think Ill stay clear of large bodies of water.Especially since I have to drive 4 hrs home lol.
Keep em coming.
I was told by a guy who goes there often to get there early and head towards the back of the park.He said people see the tempting trails going in and dont make it to the back until later.any truth to that?

I say just go. When it looks good take a left, and when it looks bad take a right. It's a great place to tool around in and eventually as you go more there will be trails that you seek out and ones you stay away from.

I still have yet to check out the property on the other side of the road.

Do they just let the place fill up or do they stop taking people after so many go in? I just hope Im not waiting in like to go thru a trail.

Fill up. We've been there during W.E. Rock and had the entire parking lot full with no parking AT ALL, parked across the street, ran trails, and never saw anyone else out there...

Plenty of room up there.

Last year for Topless for TATAs we had over 300 Jeeps there with us plus the normal weekend traffic and there was only one trail all day I ended getting slowed up behind another group and that was because they had someone stuck.

They bought new property over there a few years ago. The RCQ used to be over there until this year. Usually there's an additional $10 charge for wheeling that property but last weekend it was only $10 total.

I know its been a little while but it was a blast.I ended up bending my tie rod end bar/linkage on a big ole rock and pushing it into my front diff.We also had to replace one of my wheel bearings before we headed home.Its crazy how much influence R/C has on that town.Awesome time.
