New Jeep. What now?

Just bought my first Jeep. My first question is: I've never been out on a trail and I would like to know where is there an easy trail where I can take my wife and 18 month old son? I live near Whittier, ca. My 2nd question is: What should I start adding onto my Jeep?

Get to know your Jeep 1st. I would add first aid and safety items. Some type of communication device i.e. CB, HAM. Recovery essentials and an onboard air source.

I wheeled and enjoyed my Jeep stock for 8 years. Good times .

Nice! Good to know. What do you suggest CB or HAM

When I wheel, I am mostly with a group that communicates with CB's, so that's what I carry. I've seen rigs that carry both, but for further distance and quality - HAM. Note, HAM does require an operator's license.

I'm not one that feels comfortable drilling holes, is there a CB that uses existing holes?

I personally use a Cobra 75 WX ST which is a self contained unit with everything in the hand mic.
