North Georgia Jeep Trails

Headed up to North Georgia mountains in February. Will be doing three days of hiking , would like to do some trail riding in the Jeep as well . The hiking will be between Suches and Blairsville, GA. Trail rating would be moderate, as I will not be carry a whole lot of tools (backpacking gear). I have been in the area before in the CJ, not trail riding. Just backpacking and spent some time checking out the waterfalls with the family. Thanks for any info.

Georgia Off Road >> MX Tracks & ORV Trails

This site lists everything you should need. These are run by the Forestry Service. I've heard good things about the Beasley Knob trail from a Jeep friend. It's at the top of that list in Blairsville. Check out YouTube for some trail videos of these trails.

went to Youtube last night, yup alot of great stuff on the trails. I also did a search on Beasley Knob trail, found some good maps (trails) of the park. Lots of difficult to very difficult trails as the park rates them, its still a ways out (FEB) for my trip there. On a website I visited, the park is closed during the time I'll be in the area. I will reseach it some more, thanks phillip24fan. If it is closed there will be penty of dirt roads to ride on, thanks again.

Are there any clubs in that area? I will be up there the weekend of the 29th-30th and I'm looking to go ride.

I'm over in Athens and Oconee offroad has info on "stockers to lockers". Its a group of jeepers who gather once a month to hangout and trail together whenever they can. They are aware of some good spots in the surrounding areas so give them a call (check google for their info). Last time they met there were around 45 jeeps that showed up.

I'm going camping/hiking in the Cohutta WMA this month near Chatsworth. I'm going to check out the Rocky Flats OHV trail.
