I am from northern Jersey also, from what I know, there are no off roading spots up here. Only places I know of to offroad in NJ is Wharton ,and Rausch is in Pennsylvania.

You would be off of route 80 correct? There is a place near Pennsylvania called stokes that has some pretty mild wheeling but it is just open during the spring summer and fall. There are only back entrances to get in now which are harder to spot. There's also plenty of trails if you make your way over to Jefferson and west Milford

I would not call Stokes mild wheeling and most of the "trails" in West Milford are on private property.

Keep it legal or stay home

Check out North Jersey Jeep Club. local, and has events on private property in NJ NY and PA.

Stokes is dirt roads which seems pretty mild to me. But I agree try and join that club or jersey jeepers both have wheeling runs.

Byrne state forest. Mostly just plain packed sand. But some good roads if you explore.

I'm a nut who is always willing to go to Byrne or Wharton. Nice to have a buddy or two in case you find some "sporty" spots while back there. Just pm me or post here if any of you are heading out.

Join up on north jersey jeep club's forum North Jersey Jeep Club - The Front Page very well run club lots of events from newbies to rock racers. I moved 7 hours away and am still a member because its a top tier club. Hell current king of the hammers champion Eric Miller runs an NJJC decal on the side of his ultra 4 race rig.
