OBX-Corolla, NC--GECKO BEAST

Took the rig out on the beach and had a blast. Didn't let any air down and did 4 hi with ESC off, even got to pull some lame dwarf dodge out that was stuck!

So OBX is a few hours of interstate driving, how was your mpg with that thing over the trip down? I need to get down to the beach there and do the same. The wild mustangs on the beach are the icing on the cake.

Didn't keep up with MPG on way down. Yes, you need to get it out on the sand dunes it's unlike any driving you've done before and the OBX as a backdrop is awesome!

Night time rain driving!

After dinner took it out in total darkness and while cruising up the beach a small rain storm set in, very cool driving! Very impressed with the RIGID Dually's, I could see almost to Virginia!

Well my JK isn't quite as awesome as your rig, but i did make it out to "The Point" out at Cape Hatteras earlier this week. Never been up to Corolla so I'll have to give it a shot one weekend. We camped down at Frisco Beach Campground and had a blast. Cant get enough of the OBX!

Wow!

I look at your pictures all the time and I guess I lose perspective on just how big it is since there are never any people or cars next to it. But that side-by-side Jeep shot really shows just how huge your setup is. Nice look!

I love the OBX photos.

Out towards Rocky Mount. I spend a lot of time down in Morehead City/Atlantic Beach though. It was my first time out to Hatteras and we've got plans to head back in October if all the Hurricanes stay off shore. Are you out in Corolla?

No permit required for Corolla. The paved roads literally end and you drive out on the sand!

Getting ready to buy JK so we can hit the 4X4 beaches ... what's the minimum tires I need to really enjoy the beach and not worry about getting stuck ??

Stocks are more than sufficient, but since they are so skinny I would definitely drop them down to 15-20 PSI.
