I live in Happy Valley Oregon and have a 2012 JKUR that i want to get some experience with wheeling, find some folks to wheel with etc as i know, especially for an amateur like myself, that its a really bad idea to wheel by yourself.
The only folks i know with capable 4x4's for whatever reason have no interest in wheeling them.
Ive been to browns camp before, but it was more of a quick pass through on my way back from somewhere else...did two quick trails, thats about the extent of my wheeling experience, (but i do intend on going out there for a day soon regardless of having someone with me...if i get stuck, the camp sites with plenty of capable 4x4's around, are within easy hiking distance), besides just going over really rough terrain to get to a shooting spot in the hills...taken it out in deep snow once or twice too.
Thinking i just need to find a local jeep club thats novice friendly, any suggestions?
I dont want to do any crazy stuff at first as A) I'm a complete newb B) This Jeep is my DD that i have clients in from time to time too and C) I don't own it, US Bank does and i cant afford to do the repairs if i break something significant.
Once all of those issues are no longer issues (i have a different primary car making the jeep just a toy, i have a LOT more wheeling experience and its paid off) then i absolutely intend to get crazier with it...thats a ways off though, gotta get myself dry behind the ears first.
