Tennessee or colorado

I never been to Colorado but heard it's really beautiful and it offers amazing trails, I have been to Tennessee and ventured into windrock) mountains or something like that and loved it there!! So my question is which state has or offers the best trails as far as rock crawling, creek banks, mountain side, etc etc??
I plan on taking vacation the beginning of or mid way January and would love to re-visit one of those places so if anybody has any information or would like to tag along comment on here!!

Never been to Colorado, but Windrock is awesome. There are so many trails there in one place.

Both are awesome! Lots of trails and great exploring. Can't go wrong with either, so why choose either or...... Do both!

This windrock has peaked my curiosity. Co is awesome, but I agree with Chuck59, do both.

Well guys, I live in Louisiana so it makes it hard to do both. Maybe one day I will be able too but my finances keep me in a bind, plus this jeep is my only vehicle atm. I'm more then likely going to go to Colorado so now where are the trails at in co?

Coming to Colorado too early in year, May and June, you may encounter impassable sections of trails up high due to snow. Depending on what part of Colorado you go to. It can be fun though - snow wheeling on bright Colorado sunshine. Summit and Eagle County getting a lot of snow this year so keep an eye on it. Call shops, forest service or check trip reports.

I've never been to CO so I can't comment other than...WOW, that is some GORGEOUS scenery! It's definitely on my "bucket list" of places to go.

With regards to Windorck - been there a bunch of times when we lived in Knoxville and loved it. Every type of trail you can imagine is there, from packed gravel roads to some serious rock crawling trails to some stream crossings.

It's hard to beat the San Juan Mountain area in southwest Colorado. As some have mentioned a lot of the trails wont open until July or so .... and some wont be open until August.

People are saying that but that's now true in San Juan area been going there for years in June to end of July and there open the time I get there
Even the year that they had the most snow recored. The only time I been there and it's been closed was from a rock slide

August? The county will start plowing the trails May 1st. They pretty much have to be open by Memorial Day weekend because we don't want to loose tourist revenue.
