Well... Check this out

I just got off the phone with the folks at the Jeep Jamboree office.

The Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree is now officially a sell out!

The Tickets went on sale last Friday and the event is has sold all of it's Jeep and Driver Spots.

This is a new Record at Jeep Jamboree USA last year it sold out this event on January 11th

Would you ever believe you could sell out a Jeep Jamboree in less than one week. Three months and two weeks before the event is even going to be held.

If you have your eye on another Jeep Jamboree Event be sure to sign up I'm sure anyone would hate to be left out of the trip they are planning to attend.

I think I will now turn my efforts to helping my buddies in Amarillo sell out the Palo Duro Jeep Jamboree May 4th - 6th.

Can you believe it??

Selling out a Jeep Jamboree in less than a week!

I wonder if we could sell it out in a day next year.

I'm not sure...

I go on lots of events in that $40.00 - $80.00 price point each year and I have a blast.

But then again any time I go any place I have a good time.

I think the Magic comes from the fact that the folks at Jeep Jamboree are all so different.

You should do this... go to my website www.JeepTales.com click on the "PAST EVENTS" Link

Go to the bottom of the page and select the 2005 Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree about midway down the page you will see links for about a dozen PodCast. Listen to the folks I interviewed at our fist JeepTales + Jeep Jamboree and while you look at it you can vew the 2,000 or so photos from the area.

I think it will have more impact for you if you can hear it in the folks own voices.

I've spent a lot of time and money on the JeepTales.com website just to help spread the news about the sport of Jeepin' check it out and see if this helps.

Over the last 10 years I have had the privilege to meet thousands of Jeepers at Jeep Jamborees all over the country. I have yet to meet one that ever thought they did not get their monies worth.

Yes, I watch your site and was especially interested in the last one at Llano that sold out before I found out about it.

What seems to happen to me is that when I figure that for the price of this trip, I can make 2-3 of the other types the more-trips option seems to win out.

I came very close to signing up for the Palo Duro trip last year also but the guys I run with planned a Gilmer trip that same weekend and off I went!

The Palo Duro is a great venue and so is Gilmer.

But; you will not find better food at a wheeling event than you will at Palo Duro the food alone takes most folks to their fiscal Brake Event Pont. The wheeling and hanging with folks like, Scout, Myself, Mark Rachel and the Amarillo Jeep Club is a bonus.

Can I get an AMEN! Brother Scout!

AMEN Brother!

BTW - Check out this thread on Palo Duro: 2007 Palo Duro JJUSA Dates

Greg and I posted some good pics in that thread.

One thing you need to remember about most Jeep Jamboree is that they allow you to explore some areas of the country that your local Jeep club wouldn't have access to. Like Palo Duro and the Texas Spur they are hosted on private land. Also, keep in mind, all your meals are provided by Jeep Jamboree if you attend a "Classic" Jamboree.

All that being said Jeep Jamborees are not for everyone. If you have a local club that is active and they do the type of wheeling that you like to do then stick with that. However, some people like being in a controlled and more family friendly enviroment. Some local Jeep clubs are all about seeing how far you can push your rig until it breaks. Some are all about breaking their rig just so they can fix it and some are so full of testosterone and huge egos it just takes all of the fun out it. By no means am I saying ALL clubs are this way, I'm just saying SOME are. Jeep Jamboree provides us a good clean and safe event where you don't have to worry about alot of that stuff and the opportunity to explore some of the country we wouldn't normally be able to see.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, have you seen my tube fenders yet?

Exclamation Drink recipes for Jeep Trips

Here are the first Two Entries to the Official
Team JeepTales.com cocktail cookbook.

Let me know if you need a few more for your next trip…

*****For your own protection it is a good idea to hide your keys any digital cameras or camcorders.

Grape Thingies (AKA Grape Popsicles)
~The only thing Rachel learned in College
  • One Liter of Crown Royal
  • One Liter of Amaretto de Sorona
  • Two bar style pure spouts
  • A small lime juice in one of those lime shaped squirt bottles.
  • A small towel
  • A few Friends you trust and one or two you don’t

The Volunteer or Victim tilts their head back and opens mouth wide Bartender pores Crown Royal and Amaretto simultaneously into the drinker’s mouth. One more friend is needs to squirt a little lime juice into drinker’s mouth

Drinker Swishes content and swallows repeat until you reach desired results

I guess now you know why you need the towel!

Trail Dust Margaritas
~Greg’s Favorite
  • 175ml Jose Cuervo Gold or Cuervo 1800
  • Frozen Lime-aid Concentrate in cans
  • Lots of Orange Juice (No Glass Jugs* It’s just not safe)
  • Margarita Salt
  • Rose’s Lime Juice
  • A few Bottles of bottled water
  • A stolen one to two gallon container it must be stolen it adds to the mischievousness @ the YO Ranch we used the two gallon jug they were using for the kid’s raffle tickets

This is a proportional recipe that is based on the size of the Lime-aid concentrate container you purchased the bigger the better.

Fill your stolen container ½ full with ice Add two or more containers of Frozen Lime Aid (as volume permits) Add ½ the volume of Lime-aid used; with Cuervo Tequila. Add ½ the volume of Lime-aid used in Orange Juice If you like your margarita a tad more tart you can add some Rose’s Lime Juice

Pour some of the Rose’s Lime Juice and OJ into the lid of the Margarita Salt container, dip the rims of your glasses in the citrus concoction to help the salt stick to the rim.

Add some good friends at the end of a day of wheeling and some Pat Green Music and you are ready to roll.

Exclamation I was taking a poll!

Since we are going to have a Party Thursday, Friday and Sturday night at the Texas Spur JJUSA in Llano I just wanted to see what everyone wanted to drink.

I know my buds a Lone Star are going hook me up with a few cases of the Natinal Beer of Texas and we know I'm going to make a few Baches of Trail Dust Margaritas.

I assume one of my buddeis is going to Bring me some Tito's Vodka and I wanted to know if we need Rachel to hook us up with Grape Thingies....

In other words it was a planning session.
