It starts just outside of Geogetown Cal.

Georgetown is the Home office for Jeep Jamboree USA.

What ever you are going to do to your rig....

Have it done no later than 1 week before the event.

It sucks so hard; to still be working on your rig inside the last 48 hours before a major trip. Been their; done that, don't want to go back.

If you cant get it all done do what you can.

Another Jeep Trip; a 99.379% Reality

Have you heard the news!

My friend, Mark Toye called me today that he had heard a roomer "There is going to be a second Jeep Jamboree in Llano this year".

I immediately picked up the phone and called Tony Winkler (The Texas Spur JJUSA Coordinator) to investigate this...

For years I have been praying for a second South Texas Jeep Jamboree and now it looks like it is about to become a reality.

If you recall; the March 2007 Texas Spur JJUSA sold out in just 6 days.

To this point all parties are in agreement Roy Inks the Ranch owner, The Jeep Jamboree USA office, The Owners of the Oxford Ranch Campground and Tony Winkler. No doubt the S.A.J.E. trail guides will step up to the challenge of taking part in this project. I'm sure I can also count on Team JeepTales to be there along with a lot of our closest friends.

Roy is hoping to have it closer to the beginning of the month so the event will not run into Dove Season and so we will be long gone weeks before Bow Season Opening is too close.

Now all they need to do is lock down a date.

Most likely it will take place in September the dates should be finalized soon.

As soon as I know for sure we will use the JeepTales.com email system and a few Jeep Forums to spread the word.

I'll make sure as soon as registration opens up you will be the first to know.

I'm interested but I'm also maxed out on my Jamborees for the year. Maybe you should start a new thread and announce it?

2 maybe 3 is all I have room for. We're planning a little trip this summer with some friends to a place where you can get some really fresh pizza and pasta.

One month and counting!

You know what today is?

In 30 Days I will be sitting with all my Jeep Buddies on the steps of the Tin Cup Cafe at the Oxford Ranch Campground just outside of Llano, TX.

Getting ready to start the Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree on the 23rd of March.

I can taste the cold Lone Star now...

I hope I get my new bumpers and winch on before JJUSA.

Yep it's getting close! My rig is as ready as it's going to be for this trip.

I might have a few changes in store for Palo Duro though.

What else could you do to your Jeep that has not already been done.

What do you think of this?

Each year S.A.J.E. (San Antonio Jeep Exclusive) the Trail guide club for the South Texas Jeep Jamboree sells souvenir T-Shirts at the Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree.

The Shirts sell for just $25.00 this is the only fund raiser the club has each year. During the 2007 each due paying member of S.A.J.E. is also given a shirt when they pay their memberships dues.

This year I was voted V.P. of the club and so I was asked to design the t-shirt for the event. A friend of mine assisted me with the layout. Yes that is a 2007 JK in the art work to help enhance the fact that this is a 2007 event!

Our Club logo goes on the chest pocket and the larger image goes on the back of the shirt.

What do you think of the lay-out? This is the first shirt I have ever done.

Yeah I'll buy one of those! Cool shirts....

To answer your other question that I forgot to answer, hopefully I'll havde a bolt-in cage by the time Palo Duro rolls around.

The Tax code allows a non-profit to do two fund raisers a year without having to collect/pay sales tax.

During the events we will offer the shirts at the event and on the JeepTales.com website for anyone else who might want one.

We are going to have a board meeting tomorrow to discuss the details.

We may do one that says Spring and Fall???

As we lock down the details I'll let you all know in the event one of you JK fans might want one of the new shirts.

Do you like this one better?

Here is the other image I came up with...

What do you like better Blue or Green?

Thinking about an Off-white, Wheat or Ecrue Shirt color

This is something very close, and personal. Why would anyone pay 200-250 dollars, just to join in on an avent? When I go wheeling, I spend that much in motels, and entry fees. What makes a person pay an additional $250 dollars, just to be in a crowd? I would really like to know what makes these JJUSA events, worth the additional cost!!!!!! I know that you, jeeptales, probably get all this paid for, as a sponsor, and dealer, for AntCira, sales. I am just curious, how others justify the cost?

Please allow me let you hear what atendees say in their own words...

Go to this link and listn to a few of the PODCAST. It might answer your question more fully.

http://jeeptales.com/05texasspur.cfm

I ask averyone if the event was worth the price.

The first 10 Jeep Jamboree I went to I paid full price.

Now I write a check to Jeep Jamboree USA for the ad space in their guide book $5,000.00 a year. Since JeepTales.com does not produce any real revenue if you break it down I'm still paying for the tickets. I plan to do it for as long as I can afforde it.

Well to explain a little bit of what you're asking Blu. All meals are provided, you're in a fairly safe enviroment away from most of the big ego's you'll find in some club runs and you get to wheel on PRIVATE property that isn't available to just anyone. Both of the jamborees I'm attending this year take place on private ranches and the land owners allow JJUSA to use the property for the jamborees. I'm sure they feel a bit safer knowing that a company with the reputation of JJUSA is organizing the event.

I really do appreciate both of your answers. I just want to use Ouray, Co. as an examle. All of the trails are open for public use. I spend quite a bit in fuel, just pulling my 5th wheel, and Jeep, up there. I pay for gas, everyday, a campsite, everyday, and it is in the thousands, when I have spent a week, up there. This is of course, including meals, and what not. I just can't justify, spending another $250 just to be a part of JJUSA. I know my way around there, and like to find the most challenging obstacles, available. I guess I am just trying to understand, why a person needs a organized event, just to do things, that are normally available, to the average person, at any given time. Now the trails you speak of, on private land, I can understand that that is the only way your going to wheel there. On the other hand, Llano is not much different than, Katemcy Rocks, and all I have to do, is pay the entry fee, to wheel there. I guess what you are trying to say, is that it is a comfort zone. And purhaps that makes sence, to the less adventures. I don't know, purhaps I just need some sleep....lol.

I like smaller events too.

I run all over the state events that have almost 200 rigs and club runs with 20 or 30 folks spred over a dozen Jeeps.

All of them are a good time.

But there is something magical about the JJUSA events.

It might be the broad socio-economic gathering with young and older; wealthy and just getting by well educated folks and guys/gals who make thier living with their hands.

The only common element is that they all own Jeeps and they like getting to drive them.

I'm not sure what causes it but listen to a few of the PODCAST, after you get some sleep.

Will do, jeeptales, and thanks for your answers. I have listened to your podcasts, and have found them very interesting. I truly believe that some people are more comfortable in large gatherings, than striking out alone, with just a couple of close wheeling friends. But it is all good, don't get me wrong. Whatever gets these great people out on the trails, is reason, enough. I think I just answered my own question. This place is great, and so is the promotion you are doing, Jeeptales. Keep up the great work, and keep on, wheeling, and doing your JJUSA thing. It is a great way, to meet a lot of folks, and the best part of it is, your in the midst of it all. I really look forward to meeting up with you some day.

It's almost time to hit the road!

The Spring Texas Spur Jeep Jmaboree in Llano is now only 168 hours away!

This time next week I should be pulling into the Oxford Ranch Campground
and setting up my tent for three days of wheeling!

I am so pumped about this trip I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to sleep this week!

The Fall Texas Spur JJUSA is only Five Months and Three Weeks away;
there are still a few spots for that one open for the fall run.

Texas Spur S.A.J.E. T-Shirts

I did change the layout for the Texas Spurs T-Shirts we put togeter.

They are 100% Cotton T-Shirts in Sand Color with a pocket.

This will be on the left brest above to pocket...

This is what will be on the baak of the shirt....

What do you guys think of them?

The Guide Club S.A.J.E. will be selling them as our club fund raiser for $25.00
at the Spring and Fall Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree
