Thanksgiving Camping

Anybody want to skip the football games and get out and camp over Thanksgiving?
We're probably going to take the Jeep and Conqueror to Smokey Mountain National Park --- we usually only camp in unimproved non-campground areas, but this is easy to find.
I might be getting Wednesday off from work and would head up and get there before noon; if I can't get the day off, might head up later in the afternoon or Thursday morning.

Get out and do things; life is too short to watch TV...

You can get them in Atlanta from Jurassic Cars for ALOT less ---- I promised not to say how much less though... Ask for Dean:
Conqueror Campers . Compact Camper

If you're looking to build one, there is a ton of info and support on the ExPo forum in the AT section:
Expedition Trailers: Sponsored by AT - Expedition Portal Forums

I thought about building one but it starts to get involved; this worked out faster and cost about the same.

Here's a little video I shot after taking it home and washing all the dishes, wetting the tent, and getting to know it better:

The sagging struts have been replaced under warranty and I've been busy adding shelves and tie-down points.

fits in the garage with the Jeep and Mini:

It's a different world, isn't it? I used to think that 5 or 6 hours of wheeling was fun. Until I went on a 2-week trip... Careful of the addictive nature of travel --- it made me buy a trailer.
At this rate I'll probably sell my house in live it the woods in Montana eventually.
Some people never tire of OHV parks; no problem. But, for the adventurous, there are just so many places to see.

Hey Hilldweller, that is a great trailer. Have you looked into any of the local clubs in the Atlanta area to take your Jeep out. I also live in the Atlanta area and go wheeling pretty much every month.

PM me if you are intrested in finding out more about a local club.

I'm on the Ga Trail Riders list of members but I'm not really interested in club-oriented things. 2-4 rigs hitting the forest service roads and camping --- that's my kind of scene; I'm not interested in rock-crawling and mudding....
I haven't really found a club that does any organized runs that gets us juiced.
I've posted invites to go camping many times and only one other couple ever joined us; they were half our age and I'm pretty sure we bored them to tears. Nice kids though.

But, if anybody is in the mood to go on an expedition or weekend camping, just holler. We go all the time.
Our next big trip will be during the last two weeks of May. We're either going to head to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Maine, etc. Haven't decided.
