tiny's first experience as a Jeep Bunny...

Well gang, I rode along on a wheeling trip this weekend, and I have to say it was a different experience. Not only riding in the lead jeep, but also wheeling in snow. It's a whole different animal and I'm glad I didn't take my jeep up there.

Double G and I ran with a group from BigBear and MJR. There were around 20 jeeps and we were running GoldMountain and JohnBull.

The snow was about a week old, but still worth going up to see...

I've not spent time in snow in years, I didn't even have a coat.

Being in the lead jeep, we saw mostly untouched snow....

Right off the bat, winching commenced.

Wheeling in snow is amazing. Tire size means very little, but I have to say 37s and lockers sure was pretty. So was the snow....

We made it to the shale garden and with such a huge group we were able to climb back down and watch the rest of the group go through the shale garden..

Finally, we made it to JohnBull after helping a two wheel drive durango get moving....

Yes, there is a trail there. It's all rocks.

We sat at the base looking at all that pretty snow and Double G blamed me several times that this was my idea. Looked fairly smooth to me.... but yeah, there's lots of rocks under there.

Well, from here on out, I don't have many pictures because climbing this hill had quite the pucker factor. Gene knew that the only way was momentum and we actually laughed quite a bit later that if the snow hadn't have been there that there was no way he would have climbe that hill at the speed he did.

We pinballed our way up going so fast that we were sliding and bouncing around. At one point we shot up onto a huge rock and almost flopped. I could have opened the door and made a snow ball we were so close.

At the top turn, we made four or five runs at the last bit of hill ripping of Gene's antenna and getting a little farther each time. When we were just about to break of the winch, those big ass tires of Gene's grew teeth and we shot up. Thrilled we kept moving needing to make it to the top so that we didn't slide back down like we'd been doing.

We were met however with a tree across the trail...

And more winching commenced.

Well, out of 20 jeeps 4 of us made it to the top and down the back of JohnBull. It was beautiful.

Here's some more pics of the rock climb. I climbed down to see if anyone else was coming because Gene lost his CB antenna.

And the snow...

It was a different experience. All the jeeps were locked and loaded, but I think they got frustrated at the bottom. It would have taken hours to winch everyone through JohnBull.

All in all thoughm it was great. Snow wheeling requires a different mind set. I just hope Gene's still my buddy after I talked him into this run

We found an ice bowl at the end of the trail and spent a bit of time spinning circles around it. There's nothing that turns a man into a big kid like ice and two wheel drive.

Ya want snow wheelin come to michigan. we may not have rocks but we got trails with a good 2 feet of snow. Now that is some tough stuff to wheel in. Those are some great pics though. Looks like it was a lot of fun.

Cool stuff tiny, I spent the day in the cold white stuff yesterday also. My camera got wet about a week ago at work and doesn't work now, so no pics. Our weather looked just as yours did, it was a great day to wheel.

Do jeep bunnies have to wear the little outfit with the tail and ears?

Snow can be lots of fun! I went out in some really deep fluffy powder in a Grand Cherokee a few years ago, might have been the best wheeling ever! Crabbed up a hill sideways right in front of a Jeep engineer, she said she wished she'd had a camera, it would have made a great ad!

I would cry and bitch about that but there's a thread for that in the OT.

Looks like you guys had a blast. I wish we would get some snow around here.
