Traffic on Ouray/Silverton Colorado trails

Still waiting for the Granite Crystal color before i order the 2014 Sahara. My first planned trip will be the Ouray/Silverton Colorado trails in September next year. I saw a thread about the Jeep Jamboree being held there in September every year and i'd hate to be up there with 50, 60 whatever number of jeeps on the trail coming at me, behind me or in front of me. Just how crowded can it be up there on any given weekend and especially in September and Jamboree time? I've seen quite a few of the YouTube videos and sure enough every time the driver pulls up to the top of the trail or parking area there are always 5-10 jeeps already there. I assume the best time to be on the trails is early early mornings, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and in September when the kids are back in school. Just like any other vacation. So again, how many other vehicles have you encountered in a single day on these trails?

We were there the week after July 4th, which is very busy. We left for the trails early, about 8:00 and had very few times where there was a need to pull over for someone to pass. There are a lot of jeepers out there, but there are alot of trails as well. In September, I would expect it to be much less crowded. Have fun, and jeep safe.

I live in Ouray County and it can get like a freeway bumper to bumper on some trails in summer. May, June, September (after Labor Day), October are the best, but some are closed due to snow. And weekdays are always less crowded, do them in the morning.
