I ended up going yesterday...twice. Once with with family and then a second time with my son. Just did a little exploratory driving around since I wasn't with any other Jeepers. Got a little muddy. The Mr. Clean car wash on Preston wasn't happy when I showed up.

Yeah, for a novice like me, they seemed challenging enough. Lots of fun.

Are these trails worth taking a drive from Denton? Also I have a 2.5l w 33" tires but switching to 31" , is that still good set up for wheeling?

I really think I'm going to check these out this Sunday. Anyone else interested in going?

Oh, say 11 or noon or so. Not sure at this point. I see you had the hard top on....do you think the interior would get muddy if I were running topless?

Mine didn't, with doors on. Was relatively muddy. Can't guarantee anything...

I might be able to come Sunday, new tires and wheels will be on tomorrow! The creek out there gets pretty crazy when it rains, it rose a good four feet!

I think we are in the clear, as far as rain goes, through this weekend.

Agreed. No rain in the forecast for sure. I'll definitely go this Sunday. Right now I'm still unsure if it'll be topless or with the hardtop on. I plan on taking the hardtop off tonight.

Can't travel over 55 mph with those 33" , I know I like them but kinda sucks at times going 55 on the freeway lol

That's understandable. Your only option is to go to a lighter wheel/tire combo or to regear. Regear is expensive and will lower your mileage.

Where exactly are the trails at 121 and Custer? I'm right around the corner from there and would like to give it a try. Where do you enter from?

Driving South on Custer towards 121 - you will see The Dancemovement and paint store on the left, right about there - should see a turn in portion of a drive way. It's about 10 ft long then goes to dirt/mud.

From Custer and 121 go south and take a left on ridgeview the. Go almost to exchange and on you left past the construction and church there is a small Parking lot with a dirt road right next to it

So my jeep wouldn't start last night, wouldn't take a jump, either....had it towed to Huffines for warranty battery replacement...I suspect a bad battery cell as it was working just fine until I went to start it up not 40 minutes after driving to Chili's for dinner. Hopefully it's just a bad battery and I'll have it back in time for a little light wheeling off Lebanon this Sunday.

Hit Custer and 121 after work yesterday on my way home - did two loops around the least technical route I could find. Being in my work clothes, it would have sucked if I got stuck and had to jump out and get myself going again. Anyway, next time one of you guys are going out there again, let me know. I'd like to tag along with someone a bit more experienced than myself and have the help available if needed to tackle a recovery. Also interested in the other local trails too if anyone's going. Thanks for the info by the way.

Go under the bridge and I'm in the first large mud pit you have to cross, IIRC.
