Glad to hear this - definitely why I puckered up a little bit a few days ago at 121 and Custer. First time out there, in my work clothes alone at 6 pm....... could have been me.....

Any time man! I'm really surprised that mud is still there, its been a while since it rained. That area has seen some action lately, found both of these within a few feet of DFW6ERs rig.

Oh wow! What do you think those are rated at! Late week I just got a 2in by 30 foot rated at 20,000. I'm hoping it won't break like those

Yeah you could tell where lots of folks had been stuck there recently. Carpet, lumber, branches and those broken tow straps. Took no time at all to get out once Malfunction hooked up his winch.

I don't think they were rated very high, the blue one is extremely thin and probably broke right off the bat and the yellow on is just a tow strap and not made to flex very much.

Life got in the way and I wasn't able to get out Sunday. It's great to see the community in action to help a fellow Jeeper out.

Yeah, again, I can't thank everybody enough for offered and actual help. Saved my butt big-time.
Now I will say I had a blast wheeling that area. If we get no rain, it'll be pretty much all dried up in a few weeks. I'd like to go back and do some more, but need to bring some pruning shears because all those branches on the narrow trails did a number on my paint job. We should try and get a few members to meet up out there or over on 121&Coit maybe middle of next month.

You know, I sure don't....and I could kick myself for not taking one. At the moment, It was just a couple hours till dark and I was busy trying to contact anyone I could think of for help.
Basically it was a 40 foot mud pit covering the trail with deep ruts all over it. I was tilted towards the drivers side and my front was up to the axle in mud, back was higher. You could see all these little tadpoles squirming around on the surface of the mud around me and it looked like they were having a tough time moving in that stuff as well, LOL.

Man I should have snapped a couple pictures! It seems like every time I am out there I forget to take some. The pruning shears are a good idea, I wouldn't mind cleaning up the trails up a bit as well as some branch management. The last time I was on those trails there was a few abandoned campsites where people had left some trash. There is one spot where a branch hangs over the trail, I made it under it with less than half an inch and now that I have new tires im sure I would hit my roof lights on it.

I'm up for helping with the pruning. I'm planning to install my lift this weekend, so we'll see when folks are going out and if it will fit into my schedule. Sunday afternoon is probably going to be best for me. Also, I can bring along my chainsaw if you guys think it might help.

It's quite muddy...I'm not sure I want to try and get across that mud pit again until it dries out some more. Malfunction mentioned some trails on the other side of the bridge that I didn't even know about. I'd be more than willing to check those out however. Sunday would also work best for me.

And yeah, I saw some blankets and stuff that looked like hobos had been camping out there at one point. Definitely an opportunity to do a little clean up.

Well trail that leads off in the other direction dead ends at a huge impassable creek crossing not far down, but there is another trail out that way. It was servery overgrown and narrow I only knew it was there from satellite images. It also ends in a massive but possibly doable creek crossing. It looked was muddy and sooty creek bottom so I walked across instead of driving it. On the other side the trail was even more overgrown and had some fallen trees on it. I'm going to try to take the satellite image and make a map of the trails, that would be cool.

You know, speaking of tow straps.. I grabbed a forklift lift strap off of eBay for 25 dollars a while back. Its rated a crazy 64000 pounds. I have yet to try it, but I don't think It will break!

They are crude but yall get the idea. We should come up with names for the zones just in case someone gets stuck. Nailing down their location on the trail would be easier.

Southern trails

Northwest trails

Im not sure why they ended up so small :-/

A map with named trails is a great idea. So no big muddy areas on the side I wasn't stuck on? If not, then I'm definitely down for a little trail maintenance this Sunday or maybe next weekend

Also I'm needing to get a battery trickle charger....probably get one at Harbor Freight...so I'm going to look to see if they sell any recovery straps there, if so I wanna get one or two. Never know when they'll come in handy.
