I have only been down the Ghost trails once and it was mid summer last year and very very dry. So There may be some mud but I dont think it will be all rutted out like the southern trails are seeing as how not many people know they are there. That is my thinking at least, they are overgrown because nobody is on them.

I'm going to have to hit these trails up soon. I can't believe how close they are to me. Anybody know the trail difficulty?

They really are not difficult, maybe ones and twos with a couple of three areas. There is a decent room to maneuver on most sections so if you feel like you can't make something you can always turn around. Most paths have an easy way around the difficult parts. Most of the paths intersect at some point, especially the southern trails.

^Do you remember how high that mud came up on my tires last Sunday? I ask because I want to be sure it wasn't near my axle or transfer case breather tube openings. I don't think it was that high but want to be sure.

No it wasn't, they are pretty high up as are the transmission and t-case breathers. Your rear diff breather should be on top of your frame in the passenger wheel well and around the same place for the front but on the drivers side IIRC. Your passenger side was up on top of the rut and your drivers side was only up to the middle of the wheel hub in mud.

If you are concerned about the diff breathers are easy to extend and unless you plan on really getting into some pretty deep water or mud the t-case and trans breathers should be fine. The diff breather tubes do have a tendency to pop off the differential when flexing the jeep out off road. Adding some hose clamps on the tubes at the axle keeps them from popping off. I did it to mine after they popped off in the mud, never happened since!

I'm extending my breathers on the axles at minimum and maybe the transmission and transfer case this weekend while I'm putting on my lift. No big changes with the lift - I'm only doing the 2" Sport lift from Rancho for now. I don't want to go to far just yet, as this is my daily driver, but I do want to get rid of the factory rake and prepare for a heavier bumper/winch combo a little later.

I have to run spring spacers on the front of mine because of the bumper and winch. Ramsey 8000 with steel cable and the fab fours bumper weigh nearly 160 pounds.

With rain possibly in the forecast next week and the incredible heat we've had this week, this Sunday might be the best time to go back out there and do a little work to widen/police those trails. What mud was out there last week surely won't be as extensive. I was thinking perhaps Sunday morning before it gets too hot. Anyone interested?

I might be able to, as my parts didn't come in for my lift....... Should be Monday, but I'm not holding my breath. That puts me into next weekend anyway. What time were you thinking of heading out there? I'm probably busy until at least 9:30 or so. Honestly, the afternoon would work best for me, but it's going to be hot!

I can't get a consistent weather forecast to save my life! One is saying five percent chance of rain Sunday and the other says twenty percent chance Sunday afternoon and the last one says ten percent from 9am to 1pm. I might have to throw the hard top on, I would hate to caught out there in the rain without it!

Morning would definitely be better, have to wake up early to enjoy that 72 degree weather!

I'm putting my hard top on tonight. Have to be in Granbury tomorrow and the wife hates highway driving with the top off. Plus we can run the AC with the top on. I'll probably leave it on if the forecast continues to call for rain next week.

I really need one of the bowless soft tops. It's irritating not being able to take my top off without help. I will probably be out there earlier, 830 or 9ish.

I can do earlier. Like I said: it'll get hot. 8:30 will be relatively chilly compared to this afternoon.

All, was out there today about two hours ago. Almost all the mud is gone. Was really hot. Enjoy yourselves tomorrow.

Used to wheel a little at Rock Creek. Under the bridges every once in a while people set up a fire and just chill down there. Met some nice people there a few times
