What trails did everyone hit up this weekend?

I ventured out for the first time to 121/Custard. Has anybody drove in the creek bed? The decent/ climb from the pond trail looked to challenging for me.

You take Lebanon to rock Creek road and go under the bridge, if you look in the previous pages you will see the map of the trails.

We were out there until around twelve twelve thirty or so. Did lots and lots of trimming. The trails turned out great and we even widened an unpassable trail so we can use it now. You still need a spotter to get past it though, one mistake will send you crashing down a ten foot vertical drop into the creek.

We all took some good photos, I will try to get what I have posted later if I don't fall asleep first!

We went out to Rock Creek and Lebanon and did some trail maintenance and improvement. Was a lot more fun wheeling with others and not getting stuck.

I've been down there. I have a stock 2door Sahara 2009. First time I went down was fun. But the second time I couldn't get back up and it was a nightmare down there but finally got back up after like a half hour to and hour after trying different things. We tried escaping on the other side but got stuck in mud by the construction on that far side. Once we got out we had to go back the way we came. we were alone with no winch. If you want to go down there either have a winch or someone to pull you out.

For getting stuck in mud I heard the rumor of using cat litter to get out. I've never tried but I've used sticks and they work wonders!

I haven't gone to Lebanon but want to.
How'd it go today cleaning it up?

I really think you and Rhetts could get through there. It would be a little more technical where you have to make the left turn but doable I think. I dont know about the climb up the other side at the end though, I dont think there is enough space for the jks to reverse into position.

I have nothing but trouble with the app, most of the time It wont show me any pictures and uploading them is a pain. I only use it for basic posts. Anything with pictures I use the desktop. I wish they would make the app more user friendly. For a long time I used Photobucket to host my pictures but they limited the size and resolution you can upload so I recently switched to flickr. It took me a while to figure out how to post my pictures from it though.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to try Flickr out....IIRC they just allowed a pretty big amount of storage for free users last month.

FM 423 and Stonebrook Parkway. AMAZING trails right by the lake, so secluded.

Go the the sub-forum you want the thread to be in and there should be a tab in the left upper corner of the screen that says "start thread" or "new thread" or something along those lines.

Holy crap! While messing around google earth I noticed something. The area we have been wheeling in is pretty small compared to an area right next to it!
We need to see if they are still open.

Just checked it out on google maps as well. Guess someone will need to do some driving around to see if its developed/fenced off or posted as private property. My brother-in-law knew all about the area we wheeled at. He's a falconer and is always looking for places to rabbit hunt with his hawks. I'll try and ask him if he's aware of any other places folks commonly wheel at in the area.

According to the Denton County Center Appraisal District map most of the land in the large area is owned by that gated community at the end of rock creek road. Some of it is Corp of Engineers and some is owned by the city. The trails we were on are owned by nexbank capital inc. They are going to turn the large trails into some fancy mansions, what a waste. Its not like there are enough unsold new homes in this town as it is. I dont care if there is a sign, those trails are going to be pavement and house foundations. They can build there houses on top of my ruts, hahahaha!

Dang. Guess I better get out there and have some fun before it's all gone. Do we honestly need more houses and stuff. I think not!

Got too busy yesterday to post up my pictures, and my work filters don't seem to allow me to do it. I'll try to post them later at home. Had a great time meeting Malfunction, DFW6ER, janosko9424, and trimming a bit of the growth back to save the paint a little.

Definitely interested in the future outings before they are covered with neighborhoods. Custer and 121 just keeps getting smaller and smaller.....still some great little action, but not nearly as much acreage.
