That stinks - my boys and I are bummed.....was really liking forward to getting into some mud, but don't feel like getting stuck out there by myself.

Yup. My boy was disappointed, too. He's been looking forward all week. We'll definitely have to go out after it dries up a bit.

I was out there Saturday. Can't imagine what it would have been like Sunday after the rain.

No mud at all. Hardly any water in the creek.

Interesting. There had been some scattered pop up showers earlier last week, wasn't sure if they had hit that area or not...we didn't get any rain until yesterday here in Flower Mound. That place will be one huge mud pit for the next 2 weeks now.

Hey im trying to figure out when and when not to disconnect the sway bar. I would assume you don't when youre just mudding but trails you would. Also should I air down all the time for both of these? I should probably invest in quick discos and on board air.

No real problem disconnecting when off road if you're going relatively slowly...you dont' want to drive 55 on a gravel road disconnected, but 10 mph is fine. As for airing down, it can help...on board air or bringing a high-flow portable compressor is a great idea. Quick disconnects or you can pick up a used electronic disco off craigslist. I know I've seen one on the DFW CL in the past week or so.

What would I search for on Craigslist for discos? And also in what category? I looked in autoparts for quick discos. But nothing came up.

Hey fellas, I've been busy! I've been throwing parts at my Harley until I feel like fixing the wrangler. It needs clutch work and it's currently without its front driveshaft. As to when and when not to disconnect the sway bar, you disco when you feel like your going to need the extra flex. For me personally I usually disco mine when I get on the trail.

I'm learning that the hard way. I keep starting at the parts scattered throughout my garage and dining room.... Each thing is waiting on one other thing before it can be done... Ugh! Problem is, it's not just one jeep to be completed.... But two.

With all the rain we had this week, many are sure to be full of mud. I might go if there's someone with a winch going as well, otherwise I'm going to have to wait a week or two.

I kinda have an idea where ya'll are talking about. I'm in Plano off of RidgeviewRanch Drive, between Independence and Custer (RidgeviewRanch Golf Course neighborhood) I will be watching this site for any takers this weekend. I would be more free on Sunday and would like to see this place - i'm not exactly 25, but I sure as hell act that age

Oh, is this place legal? Or are their police issues/presence?

The place off Rock Creek and Lebanon isn't marked as private property or no trespassing. Folks wheel out there all the time, even during the week. And I haven't seen any police out their, either. I'd say it's fair game as it's not posted and not USACE or park land, either.

I agree.

Even though I am a lawyer, I haven't researched this exact question, but that passes my smell test. Unless someone were to tell us to get lost while we were out there, I think we're ok.

All that being said, I take no responsibility for your actions and do not represent you.

I am, too. In house counsel (VP/AGC) for a bank, handling mortgage servicing. No, I have no idea what rates, states, regulatory agencies, or borrowers' attorneys are going to do!

If I can find the time to get my front driveshaft back in I may go out. I also need to rewind my winch, when I pulled Dfw6er out the line slipped into the lower coils on the drum. I didnt have it wound tight enough.

yeah, I'm staring at a radar screen right now. Looks like it's going to miss Flower Mound....which sucks, but I've got tall grass that really needs mowing
