Should of got a passat! lol I never understood the hybrid as the batterys need maintenance and that is $$$.

My Dad is just crazy, he went through 3 boats last year. I'll probably keep mine. The sunrider I use today and last night, first time since October.

Keep the jeep if you can and figure out other ways you can save money. Can't beat riding with the top open/down.

Is anyone heading to the Page road dirt pile this Saturday? I just got my Jeep last week and want to get it a little dirty but I'd like little advice on where to go in there so I don't get stuck by myself.

JCROffroad sent me sliders but forget to send me the nutsert tool. As a result, I got halfway through the install (one plastic step off, hole drilled in side of jeep) only to discover I can't clamp the nutserts. Home Depot, Ace, and autozone don't sell nutsert tools, and even if JCR sends me a new tool, it could be weeks before I get enough free time to finish the job.

So I decided to just take them to a shop hopefully this week, but 4WheelParts told me today that they were booked until the second week of NEXT MONTH.

So I'm hoping to find a local shop--with nutsert tools--and availability for this week. Google suggests that 4WP is just about it.

Any ideas?

I hope things shape up for you. I'll probably go in the afternoon if anyone else is heading out there. I heard of a place near Harris Lake that is nearby so I may drive over there in the morning. My boys want to bounce along a path somewhere so I'm trying to find a place to take them.

Can't beat closet 50mpg without having them silly batteries! haha

Drove a passat today and OMG smoothest damn car I've rode in a longgg time.

I love the jeep and honestly I will only pull the trigger IF I get what I want for the jeep really. If I part it out theres going to be alot of parts for sale. Bumper, winch, lights, Cb, antenna's ACE rock sliders, track bar lift kits, shocks, etc.

For a PASSAT?? Ahh well, they are pretty slick . . .

If you pull the trigger, I'd at the very least take the trackbar and the front LCAs off your hands. Maybe the Smittybilt cargo bag too.

I haven't been in the Raleigh trails forum for a week or so due to a hectic schedule and I just read you are planning to trade your '12 for something more economical. Wow... I'm really sorry to hear this but I understand with fuel prices the way they are and no end in sight it can really hit your wallet hard.

My wrangler is not my primary vehicle so it sits in my driveway until the weekends. If it were my primary vehicle it would be hard to justify.

So your plans are to bring your Wrangler back to stock before trading it?

I'm interested in the LoD bumper, but unfortunately I ended up having to pay taxes this year so I am currently cash poor. PM me and let me know what you'd be willing to part with the bumper for and I'll start working on the "boss" to see what I can swing.

Couldn't come at a worst time for me with the recent boat purchase but I might consider the parts above.

Bumper is with skid plate is 800. I'll be asking around 650 for it, comes with the bracket for the 12's to which you can resale if you like.

It is not set in stone yet. I did a job interview today at CAT in clayton (where I live). The Jeep is not DD, its weekend but my truck I drive everyday 07 1500 4 door red truck.. Both trucks get 15-16mpg...just sucks. Talking with my pops to maybe get a low mile beater, I don't give 2 cents if it is a corrall either lol.

Man, I'd hate to see you let the jeep go. That's the best looking cosmos I've seen.

I commute about 35 miles EACH WAY every day in my jeep. Hence 30k miles on a 2010. I'm averaging about 18 mpg on my 33s and my weekly fill ups are getting painful.

Do keep me updated on the trackbar and front LCAs though . . .

Well I hope you find a way to keep it. It is a great looking Jeep that you put a lot of time and thought into and it would be a shame to put it back to stock and trade it off.

Here's hoping you get that job at CAT in Clayton!
