But make no mistake, that's not quite where we are now. There's a world of difference between having no knowledge of the owner's view versus being expressly told "no" by the owner. Wheeling after being told "no" becomes second degree trespass--a Class 3 misdmeanor.
That is a very good point and I hadn't thought of it like that.

You should be fine - I never find myself ducking under the trees (usually have the top off) - there's lots of page rd videos on the forum - I don't believe I've seen low hanging trees, there's always an alternate path out there anyway...

so i tackled y mounts today... the transmission mount was shattered, and the motor mount was destroyed. after replacing all those we went on to the rear brakes, and the cylinders are leaking, so im replacing those, the brake pads, and the brake lines which also broke...

Um I think the seal on the transmission may be starting to go, as is the one on the rear axle, but other than that everything seems to be okay

I would be up for Busco, but is there that much for Jeeps? I rode there a few years ago on ATVs, but don't remember much open area other then the sandy road. I'd be coming from Greensboro so if someone could confirm we're allowed there that would be awesome.

This should give you an idea, you can get in slightly sticky situations following him! On the upside he's always ready to pull you out!

Stock Sport JKU at Uwharrie

I posted this by itself but should have put it in the Raleigh trails thread...

I went to the Uwharrie with my stock JKU Sport yesterday. For those that are wondering about their stock Jeep there, the Wolf Den trail is fine for a stock Jeep. The skid plates drug lightly across a number of the higher break-over erosion control berms and there are maybe 3 rock outcroppings on that trail that you should be careful going over. It is the "easy" trail but the experience was a bit much for my wife and at each obstacle she thought something was going to get broken so we didn't do any of the moderate or harder. I'll have to let someone else describe what the moderate trails are like in a stock Unlimited Jeep. A two door would have certainly done better there than the longer wheelbase due to the berms.

It was quite dry and dusty... there is a small bit of mud at the entrance to Wolf Den but it didn't even get my wheel wells dirty. By the end of the trail we were just dusty. We drove home through a rainstorm so I only need to vacuum the interior.

I should add that if it's your first time don't put your trail use sticker on the windshield. I only noticed later that Jeeps seem to wrap it around their mirrors. I am definitely a rookie, but having fun.

Is Wolf Den easy to find once you get to the forest? is it a loop or do you back-track? I've tried to find some maps of it and they all seem a little vague.

^ Wolf's Den is a great beginner trail although many big rigs have been making the rounds through it this year (not uncommon) and it's gotten rutted out some. It's a little more of a challenge now but compared to what the rest of URE has to offer it's still a fun trail ride.

Also Dicky Bell is a pretty good beginning trail too. A little harder than Wolf with more ledges and some rocks but definitely fun. I've been wanting to go down to URE for a while now. Let me know the next time any of you want to go.

Just head down the main gravel road from the entrance and I think it's the next trail head to the left after the gun range. In either event it's well marked.

It's not a loop but at the exit you can take another gravel road back to the main road if you don't want to go down the other trails or turn around and go back the same way. There were people coming both ways on it when we were there which makes for a little difficulty depending on where you meet them on the trail.

Right now talking with close family friend that owns a local dealership in to getting my head fix on my 12'.

We have 2 jeeps at my house now so I can still come up with electronics even if I don't own one.

But since my work is only 16 miles round trip now I'm way better off, so I'll keep it.

For my first trail ride ever in a stock 04 TJ to URE and did slab pile followed by dickey bell. It's awesome. Wolfs's den is fun!! If you take the left after you exit part one of wolfs den you come to 2 gigantic mud holes!!! Fun to play in and get dirty and then there is the trail coming down the mountain!!
