How is it illegal? There are no "no trespassing" signs or anything that say otherwise. I see people out there fishing on the lake all the time when I drive on 540.

Yeah exactly, that's how I always look at it...the worst thing that could happen is that we would be asked to leave. I've been there multiple time and have never been asked nor have I seen any signs.

Yeah man, will do.

No trespassing signs are on Page Rd however since there are many places to go, there might not be any where your planning. You just have to be sure. The worst case is not a simple asking to leave, it could be a ticket and them asking you to leave. Been there done that.

I have not seen any signs on the area that I go. You might be thinking of a different place because I'm talking about the one that is right by the lake...never seen any signs.

Whats up everybody? I'm close to Page Rd. How rough is this trail? Anyone know? I just picked up my Jeep last week so I'm not modified yet.

O and my profile says Myrtle cause I'm about to move there next month.

Welcome to WF! I have been to the page rd place many times in my 100% stock wrangler. The only thing that is different is that mine comes factory with BFG KM MT's which provide a little more off road traction, but not a ton. I can do almost 95% of the stuff that is out there, so you should have no problems as well.

If you want to come along, just let me know and I'll send you a PM later next week with all the details

There is a place here in Raleigh that leads up and around a lake nearby me. I haven't been to it but others going tomorrow have and I've heard from several that it's a good place to wheel. We are meeting up tomorrow afternoon at 11am. Are you gonna come?

Kangaroo Gas
1807 North Harrison Avenue, Cary

Was this at the place off of Page Rd, next to the lake? It looks awfully familiar

BTW are you all (ESP123, TheMadBotanist, and Billy YJ) still up for next weekend?

I'm also stock...and, I might just wait for bigger tires before going back to page road. I did handle it well, and my rig isnt broken...but it could have been. Or I could have been stuck, I think relatively low moisture levels and some fairly level-headed driving kept me from having a bad day.

I'd rather play at selma next weekend, if it's available. Clutch, have you been out there before? It's a good spot.

Jude, any word from keith about next weekend?

Really? I didn't have any problems when I went the last time to Page Rd, might be because I have mud terrains but I don't think it make a big difference. Mine is bone stock.

I've heard of Selma but I've never been. Where is it? How far from Raleigh?

Well, i've still got the Dueler A/T's which came with mine, and I survived the mudholes, but there were a few scary spots I thought I might get stuck. I am pretty new to four-wheelin', so it's just my amateur opinion that page road might be a bit more gnarly than my equipment (and myself) are ready for.

Yeah those tires should be ok as long as you stay away from the deep soft stuff...but it sounds like you didn't I've been there a bunch of times so I know the lay of the land pretty well...what to do, what not to do. I went there with a buddy who had a stock Tacoma with the streetiest street tires I've ever seen and he didn't get stuck one time...and it had just rained

Anyway I wouldn't mind Selma next weekend, but I don't know where it is? Do you have directions or an address?

Haha, FINE, I'm a total wuss when it comes to wheelin, IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO GET AT CLUTCH!?

lol, i'll admit, at the end of it I did feel more confident in my vehicles abilities, but there were moments...

I'm sure in an earlier page of this thread they gave the meetup location, the one time I went we met up at a gas station and then went there in a small group. You could definitely swing through raleigh first and follow me, or get up with Jude in cary first.

Haha, NO NO NO NO...Im just saying from experience that a stock JK is VERY capable even though you may not think/or feel like it is.

Ive been wheeling for about a year and have had those moments where im just like can i do this? But i pull though and realize it wasnt as bad as i thought. I just kind of keep a mental notebook of the limits of my Jeep, as learned by trying

Ive sifted through the pages and i cant find an adress because it is private land. Since i dont drive through cary very often, im gonna opt to met up with you in raleigh and then we can head to cary. Is there a time/date yet? Im available after 3 on saturday and after 1 on sunday and all day monday
