I've seen two syn lines pop. But never cable. Not that I would ever want to. But on my opinion cable is more reliable, stronger, your winch will overheat before cable snaps.

I've never seen either one snap but I always stay well within ratings - I liked synthetic when I built towers because you could really feel any extra weight! I'm a big fan of steel anything so you can't go wrong with cable - I bought my winch with the syn line on it - I've only used it about 6 or 7 times but so far so good!

If you research it you will find that syn line is technically stronger but is more susceptible to damage whereas steel is much more bullet proof - bottom line is if you're snapping winch lines you're either not maintaining it correctly or you're overloading it.....

Syn rope spools in a lot cleaner, easier to handle. Weights the big thing for me, I actually take my winch and plate off when I go to Uwharrie.

Cool - should also note syn's tensile strength is stronger.

I must say - its hard to say its enjoyable hooking up to someone but it is much more comfy running syn through the hands!

Yeah about that... What if I was to say I drove to Charlotte for one today? And maybe it's sitting in the trunk of the SRT

If there is a fender flare cutting party, I would be in if possible. I would rather spend the money on the lift than fenders....
Bummer I have to miss tomorrow!

Made it back in 2hi.... A little too much bounce and broke the rear driveshaft. Almost had the steeper of the three hills but should have quit while I was ahead! Looking forward to getting back out there into that rock pile.

Let me know if anyone has a driveshaft repair place they can recommend. Otherwise I can send it back to Missouri to the place that made it for me...
