So it looks like I will be heading to the Rock by myself (unless someone decides to go with me before I leave), does anyone know if the Rock is pretty bad after it rains? I have only been there when it has been dry so going by myself wasn't a problem. Don't want to get stuck on the main trails by myself
okay so dumb question and probably not posted in correct place but if I wanted to install quick dis-connects on my 2.5" skyjacker lift, I will need (2) pair, correct...assuming that I would do all 4 wheels. Someone help my newbie butt!!
:surrender:
Had an awesome time at the Rock with Eric, definitely boosted my confidence. I did learn that I need a lift while also at the same time learning the importance of skid plates haha.
Thanks for showing me the ropes my first time out, I am definitely going to go out with you guys again!
Yup, that was good - funny those rocks really shook the jk up - went from strange noise / engine light and no gas to no gas light / esp / bas / engine and now its all good - no idiot lights, plenty of gas and no engine light. Think I'll start calling my jeep christine...
Kyle, were you at 4WP around lunch? I thought I saw your rig there and was going to text you. I am trying to free up the weekend but agree with the weather. If it is wet I don't think I will go, but would still do local probably.....
That was me. You should have stopped in and hung out for a few. Got the ZJ on the RTI ramp and through the rocks out back. The guys up there were pretty impressed and were all snapping pics of it almost maxing out the ramp.
And I messaged you about a URE trip this weekend if you're interested.
So who all on here is going up to URE this Weekend. The wife and I are going Sunday morning (well if I can get her to go she is coming, shes scared). Hahah, but anyways I plan on meeting Willie that used to work at 4wheelparts somewhere and follow him up cause this will be my first time going, yup newB. But I haven't talked to him since Tuesday night. So if anyone wants to meet up sunday and convoy up there, I talked to Troy (from 4wheelparts, the guy that is setting this ride up pretty much) yesterday and im gonna call him Saturday and he is gonna tell me what time everybody is meeting at the outpost. Probably like 9 or 10 he said. So we would have to leave at 7 or 8. So if anyone wants to convoy up, there aint nothing better then seeing a bunch of nice jeeps rolling down the road!
There are 4 of us are leaving from the Bojangles at highway 55 and 1 at 7:30 sharp Sunday morning. More than welcome to meet us up there and convoy with us.
Yeah I may just do that, ill be there at 7:30 if that's what I decide to do. Thanks guys. Ill more then likely be there baring any event unforeseen at this point. What about rain? Yall still going if it rains? I don't believe it is supposed to but just wanna know incase.
Try to get there a little before 7:30 if able, so we can leave out rite at 7:30 amd meet the guys already at URE on time. It rained there last night and a chance today, but supposed to be sunny tomorrow and sunday so we should be good.
Good deal, and yeah I was gonna be there early I always am. About how long will it take me to get to that bojangles from Where Cary parkway crosses hwy 1. Cause thats where I live pretty much. Or do you know? I was just gonna GPS it when I get home and see.
Stu, so far its Bret, Mike, Kevin, myself and possibly a few more. Meeting up with a group that will already be there. Troy from 4WP has been organizing it. Leaving from the same Bojangles as last time at 7:30 sharp.
For those who are planning on going to URE for the day this Sunday, 8/25, we are still planning on LEAVING the Bojangles at Highway 55 and 1 at 7:30am SHARP! If you want to gas up at the gas station next door and/or eat before we leave, be sure to get there early. We should be meeting another group either at the Outpost or one of the parking lots near Daniel Trail if they haven't quite woken up and gotten ready.
If you've never been to URE, you can buy either a 1 day pass, or an annual pass at the Outpost.
I'll do my best, but I think Mike and myself will be slow pokes on Highway 1 down to Sanford, as I'm on 4.88's, and I think Mike has 5.38 gears! So I think 65 will be about the best we can do, but we'll catch up for sure
Lets get a good head count, so I can let Troy @ 4WP know for sure how many of us will be there.
Well guys i over slept a bit haha. But im still down for the rock if anybody wants to go. I could probably get up there about 12:30 or 1. Let me know what time best for whoever wants to go.
