Wester,
If the D44 Rubi axles are better than my d30 stock ones I am definitely interested. Anyone know on here? if not I will dig around.

The rubicon 44s are stronger than your dana 30. They come with 4.10 gears which is different from your gearing now. So youd also have to regear the rear. And the biggest difference are the lockers that come with it.

Wester said "axle shafts"--not "axles." When I hear shafts, I think just the actual axles, not the entire housing, lockers, gears, etc.

Can you put D44 axle shafts into your D30 housing? I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

The shafts wont work in the d30 but I believe they should work with your rear if he has them. They arent any stronger but they would be fine as spares

OK... I meant just the shafts as well. I already have a regear to 5.38 (love to change that at some point too). But sounds like the shafts won't swap in anyway. Figured I would check..
thanks for the info!

I didnt even notice that.. but you are right I thought d30s only allowed up to 4.88s in jeeps, I know in tjs they are, but maybe the jk housing allows a higher numerical ratio.

I have 5.38 in front and rear, previous owner did it at 4WheelParts. when I checked the housing shape I am pretty sure it was the D30, but I will check again when I get home. I didn't know there was a limitation, and wish they were 4.88.. :-) It is pretty painful daily driving it with 35's

Been a while since I've wheeled or seen most of you. Been working hard on Jeremy's new shop/bonus room at his new house. And maybe a new toy that he got But the end is near and we're going to try and have the XJ ready for the Uwharrie day trip. We have a lot to do to her.

Parts sitting in the garage:

-Long arms
-high steer(knuckles, 1 ton steering, heim joints, ect.)
-new 1 ton trac bar, heim joints, and brackets
-shackle relocation kit for the rear
-chassis stiffeners(XJ flexing without doors soon!!!)

And of course theres all kinds of odds and ends to get done too. But fingers crossed that we'll be ready.

Hey guys, new Wrangler owner in the area. I live in Holly Springs/Cary area and work in Perimeter Park. Just got a new JKUR 10A and I'm looking to learn how to offroad properly ;-)

Any recommendations on where to start, join clubs, etc? Willing to learn and help out when I can ;-)
