Uwharrie 8/21/2010

Hubs and I did some wheelin' at Uwharrie state park yesterday. We had a blast! There is something for everyone there. Big hand to all the NC clubs that help to maintain trails and keep the place spotless! Now if we can only do something about those few that feel the need to spray paint the beautiful rocks!

that last pic is bumpy! I remember going over those when I was there. Did you do the Falls Dam or Wolf's Den trails?

Lol!! Those floating logs. We did everything but the front side of Daniel. We went up the back side and at the top, just looked down. The jeep did great! No clearance issues. I love uwharrie though, if you see some rocks you know aregonna hang you up, someone has already created an alternate route. It is a beautiful place!

What lift and tires do you have on your Jeep? I just bought a 2000 Sahara and would rather set it up properly, before wheeling, than tear it up unnecssarily. I am in Carrboro so I could give the wife and kids a thrill by going up there. I have heard about Uhharrie being rocky but never been. Thanks for any advice.

Thing looks stock to me my friend. I say wheel it stock first, learn the rig then build it to your needs.

2010 stock jk with 17' rims and 32' bfg m/t. It has a little bit moe clearance than my 06 tj did. We were able to ride most of the trails without scraping anything underneath. Just took it nice and easy. Crawled around in 4-lo alot. My advantage was being with people that know those trails inside and out. Like having spotters. Beautiful place!

I went a couple of weeks back. This tarheel fan will be at Uwharrie on labor day because we may not have much of a team left to field by then

I went Saturday and found the trails, but being solo, I didn't venture into the trails, just made the loop through the gravel roads. It looks like a lot of fun. I was VERY tempted to head into the Wolf's Den trail, but resisted because I was the only Jeep out there.
