Washington dc

Hey all! I am a frequent traveler to DC and was wondering if there are any trails close in VA or MD. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well gambrill is just outside of Frederick. There are a few ways to get to it. It is a state park so most of it is just stone rds but I know of a couple trail that are pretty fun. They are not that long at all but like I said you could ride around up there all day on those rds. I have not been up the cotoctain way so I'm not sure if there are anymore trails up that way or not. Was going to ride further up that way Saturday but ran out of time.

Its illegal to wheel in Gambrill state park or the water shed/Cotoctain trail. that creek crossing is a dirt rd I cross that in my 2wd dakota. Nice shot of anthrax pond, go hit the national forest in VA or the cove.

Yes it is your right, however hawbottom rd is a fun rd and like I said before its nothing extreme. I also said it is mainly stone rds. The state makes it perfectly clear it is illegal to wheel up there. All the fire breaks are closed off and so are any trail anyone has ever started. I know of two trails that's all and they are not on state Forrest property. The guy was looking for somewhere new to go. Just trying to throw some ideas out. I have wanted to go to va but no one ever wants to go, that's half the damn reason on here to find people that want to go out and actually do sheit rather than just talk about it.

Legore- not trespassing. We have permission to be there during day light. Its all mud with a couple hill climbs and a beach on the river at the end to have a fire/cook. We have a group going out there Saturday. We have confirmation from the police as well as DNR that we do have permission to be out there during day light hours.

Rausch Creek- The best all around offroading in the area. Its got everything from Hardcore Rock trails for purpose built buggies to stock friendly fire roads. They have camping and a full service shop you can use if you break your junk. There are also Hotels close by and they are open every weekend year round and you can even go during the week if you have a big group and call them up to plan ahead.

Greenridge- Really easy state dirt roads for the most part, they get wet in the rainy season and have a couple interesting obstacles and camping. The ATV ORV there is closed but they are state roads so licensed/registered vehicles can still travel on them.

Big Dogs Offroad Park- Gore, VA. Only wheelable during events as far as I know. You can check out Big Dogs website for dates and event locations.

Fort Hoyle Offroad Park- This is a place we are trying to get reopened for wheeling to the public. Its located in a privately owned quarry near Baltimore. You can help by signing this online petition: https://www.change.org/petitions/re-...-signed-waiver

Wharton State Park NJ- Pretty cool place, pretty much just big sand/water/mud holes and really beautiful scenery. Make sure you have someone to pull you out if you go and you might wanna prep your rig for water cause thats what you're gonna get.

GWNF- Never been there, but heard its pretty nice.

The Cove- Heard of it, dont know where it is or what its like.

Vaters Offroad is based out of Hagerstown and works with F&S Racing to hold events also... Boulder Bash is Sunday April 1st if you would like to come.

Going to GWNF-Peter's Mill Run/Taskers Gap on Sunday morning. Hopefully leaving DC by 9am, arrive around 11, back on road home by 4?

Let me know if anyone is interested. It is just currently me (stock JKU with BF Goodrich Mud Terrains), and hopefully my roommate running a stock Ford Explorer...
