Thats the way I was leaning. The way I look at things is that I will slowly scrape my diff on rocks but I would drop my oil pan hard on rocks. If I could find oneone in my area that could teach me how to weld I could make both for next to nothing.

Count me in. I'll be heading up on Saturday. Noob off-roader and never been to RC so I'll be there first thing in the morning to get my membership/pass squared away. My baby is my DD and mainly stock with 33" shoes so I'll be sticking to greens for now.

Never run with Tom. We generally end up guiding a group for Rausch Creek or riding by ourselves as park staff.

Feel free to add to this list with the basic "essentials" for spending the weekend at Rausch Creek for the trip. I will start.

Camping:
Water
Tent/hammock

cooler
sunscreen
bugspray
money
baby wipes (no showers)
deodorant/spray
toothbrush/paste
a hat
clothes

Trail:
Spare tire
Tow Point
Spare U joints/shafts/other parts
Jack
tools
air down tool
compressors

I don't think you would have known, since we didn't run into each other. I'm just teasing you. If I were going, I wouldn't take him again though. He didn't like riding on the trails in the Jeep, and I don't trust tying him up without supervision.

Okay so I'm not AS crazy as we though

I couldn't take my golden, he's too full of energy. I have a friend with a bulldog who has taken it. For a hardcore weekend though I personally wouldn't want a dog.

So, what's the plan? Just show up and get into groups? We'll probably be there Thursday night and wheel all weekend.

Finally got my power steering issue sorted out. Now I just hope I can get my engine/tranny skid in in time to install it before the trip

8.8 is almost ready to bolt in. Paint and Guts. Then paint the d 30 and put the guts in. swap in the sye. bolt up the new driveshaft. Bolt up the new belly skid and cross member after I paint it. Bolt up the rokmen GTS. put the rear bumper and junk back on. Put on the rear tow hook. Check for clearance issues with the DS and the skids/x member and fix any of that. Get the exhaust piece I need bent and install the gas. Run the brake lines and hook all that up for the 8.8. Nice little list...

Hub, well all be out friday afternoon or evening/ talk about groups over the fire and wheel away sat and sun.

While there is a lot of camping space at Rausch; flat, smooth, rockless space is at a premium. You may want to bring some kind of a pad to go under your tent or sleeping bag. Last trip I was in a hammock strung up over a bunch of rocks. If the hammock fell I probably would have died from the head wound.
