The Outer Banks are beautiful but if you just wanna wheel its not worth the drive from Ohio. Not really much other than driving on the beach and some dunes which got boring to me in about an hour but as a pure vacation spot its one of my favorite places to go.

If you are planning a vacation strictly for wheeling Rausch Creek and the Badlands are closer for you and better for offroading. However if you are wanting a regular vacation and would also like to get off the pavement a little bit then the outter banks would be good. Its a beautiful place but its not great for challenging your skills.
