| A little play in the snow.
This weekend, having nothing to do, and weather being bad (rain alternate with drizzle), we decided to head for the mountains.
So we left Bucharest, on Saturday, at 18h00, me+wife and a friend+wife+4Runner and reached, at 21h30, the cottage/challey (Bolboci - 1460m altitude: Bolboci River - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) where there already were some friends of us.
There we found, besides a smoking bbq with a lot of buzz besides, what we haven't seen since last winter: snow (not much, some 5 cm).
On Sunday, we decided to go further (to Babele challey, at 2016m altitude: Babele - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), we reached 1950m and had 20-30cm of snow, but we were forced to "abandon" because it was very foggy, the trail was completely covered in snow and becouse of the fog, you couldn't see the road, without having somebody walking in front. Actually, The Toyota (who was leading), lost the road and got stuck, the Pajero tried to recover it and got stuck and, eventually, it was my Jeep that recovered the Pajero, who recovered, afterwards, the Toyota. We had lots of fun. Sorry for the photos, but the neteo conditions, weren't great.

Next weekend I will go out again, maybe I will meet some snow. If something nice, I will post soon.

It seems that you stole our snow, 'cause I haven't seen any since I posted the pics (that was in October) . I hope Santa will bring some snow.

On New Year's Eve, we have played again a little in the snow, in the mountains. It happend at 1600 m altitude, in Bucegi Mountains (near Pestera Ialomicioara - Ialomicioara cave: http://watcher.ro/2009/10/19/ialomici...-ialomicioara/ ) but, unfortunatelly, we had not as much snow as we would like.
This was an opportunity to put on test my new BFG's MT. Conclusion: they are just great. |
