Badlands 4/2/10

Man what a frickin great time wheeling and meeting new people. Josh, was great meeting you and wheeling with you as well.

The weather was perfect, sunny and 84 out and somewhat dry, but yet the typical mud holes were still around and even deeper in some cases. Got to test out the new winch multiple times and performed flawlessly... best $300 upgrade this spring besides the cage. Speaking of cage, almost got to test it out and not in a good way.

Just a note for you guys who have winches and haven't used them in 3-6months..... test them out before hitting the trails. Unspool them and respool under load of the Jeep to make sure your winch isn't fried or shot. There apparently was only 2 working winches in our group yesterday.

The couple holes on Orange trail, are definately deeper and dug out, as I finally tested out the door seals which held for a few mins, but eventually took on some water.

Josh about 5mins later tested out his U-Boat skills and turned more into a sub instead and then later in the day checked out his skills again.... but.... well another test for the winch. We both got stuck good a few times, but hell that's what it's about pushing your rig and your skills.

I cant wait to wheel with you guys again.

Ahh man, it was just a blast. Had to remove the rear seat to get some of the mud & water out and since it's raining, that will help wash the Jeep a little. Now just need to starting checking the underside for any damages.

Pictures... what pictures... pictures of what..

If you haven't gotten more out of the insurance company than you deserve, then you haven't screwed them nearly as much as they have been screwing you for the past xx years.

The kids got sprayed a little while trying to get out

About 5 mins after recovering my Jeep, Josh managed to find the next deep hole on Orange, after seeing this one, I aborted following... LOL

And about 20mins later tried playing U-Boat commander

Me almost testing out the new roll cage at the end of the day. I think the only thing that stopped it was a mound of dirt & rocks. I can't believe the beads didn't pop when landed. Vid to follow.
