Thumbs up Badlands 8/14/09 pics and vids

really great trip this weekend, lots of great people and rigs. met a group from wisconsin 4x4 and comanche club i'm a part of, xj's mj's wranglers and a couple cj's and one buggy, scott from rock4x made it out. also met up with some guys from my old club i haven't seen for years and wheeled with them, great time.

this is called axle breaker.....for good reason.

i was hoping this sign would be clearer, it says DANGER KEEP OUT, thought that would be a cool pic

i was just there a couple months ago, and its amazing how much it changes, its different everytime i go, they do great work there. i'm gonna download some video now, jd has a lot more pics coming to.

jk rubi on 35's made a few attempts before this one, turns out he was trying to climb in 3rd gear i think or something, kinda defeats the 4:1 low doesn't it, second vid is when i went around and made the climb in 1 try in that poor little ole yj

video of my first try from inside the yj.

Was the attempt at "Axle Shaft Hill" successful.... I've tried that one the last two times I've been there and pretty much ended the same way all twisted up like the pic and almost on my side.

When I have the cage & rear corners in next spring will be back there to to tackle or try again.

It was pretty hairy, but I made it. I'm trying to track down the video that was taken of it.

I am uploading them today sometime. The guy made it up axle breaker. We showed up and went up and lent a hand with my 20 foot straps to hold him from going over. Scott in his buggy went up axle breaker like it was a cake walk! But broke his driver side hub off when he decided to try jumping out the top of it lol. Dave the video of going up the rock slabs was decent considering I was hanging out the side of the truck lol.
