Made the trip down to Ouray, Co. this week and did Black Bear Pass. The scenery is fantastic, and the wheeling is fun and calm until THE STEPS. That would be the picture where it looks like open space just past the hood. Everything you hear about this section is true. Going down steep and loose rock, not being able to see around the corner put the "pucker" level way up there. The switchbacks are a piece of cake after you clear THE STEPS and pull your wife's hands from the grab handles.
That house on the cliff at Telluride with the waterfall under it is unbelievable in person. In winter they have supplies delivered up to them on a cable, the snow is to deep so the road is closed. Yes they are great pic's so thank you

I flew into and out of Telluride on Friday and saw that house. It's pretty cool, but logistically, it's a handful. There's some MONEY sitting on the ramp at Telluride...

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you with tears in my eyes, if you f**k with me, I'll kill you all.....
I just moved to Colorado from Mississippi about two weeks ago. Me and my buddies only dreamed of doing the trails in Ouray, now I'm only about 1:45 drive from there. I will see that beautiful place before this month is over. I can't wait to see black bear in person. Awesome pics. Thanks for posting.

Nice pics I did it in my Bronco last year but can't wait to get up there in my TJ. I'm trying to get up there in the next couple of weeks before the snow, but after seeing these pictures, I might just move it up to next weekend.
Thanks for sharing.
Nice! We spend our vacation every other year in Estes Park or Ouray. With the new JKU, we're planning on going somewhere in the Ouray area this summer. Will be looking for some fun trails a stock JKU can handle and still get us back home (937 miles!).

Great pictures even though they can't show the pucker factor like sitting in the seat. I have enjoyed every trip I made down Black Bear Pass. It's kind of like riding a roller coaster over and over again, still fun every trip.

Last Dollar Road - from the Telluride Airport comes out on CO 62
just West of Dallas Divide (between Placerville & Ridgway).
It goes by/above some nice homes and takes you along the sides
of Ralph Lauren's ranch and you can marvel @ the fancy gates along there.
In the summer, there are several sheep flocks along the way which are
fun to stop and watch (and the sheep dogs watching us back).
There is also a large Elk Herd that hangs out on/near Ralph's place too.
It has several pull-offs on the Telluride side with great panaramic views
and the ranches on the Mesas along the river.
It's a dirt road - but a fun way back to Ouray/Ridgway from Telluride
rather than the hiway.
