Broken axle video & pics

Snapped an axle on a little sally hill. heres the vid and pics.

Aw, that's and easy fix... I was hoping for some real carnage. Video was cool though! What model camera were you using?

They are upgraded super 30, 30 spline Yukon axles. This is the second set that ive broke. As you can tell by the video there was no reason for them to break.

nice, got a write up on where your camera is mounted, i like it, you can actually see the terrain pretty well. videos and pics never fully portray the whole story though.

Better it breaks there than inside the carrier. That's where all of my Alloys have broken.

hey silvergoat looks like we each had a similar experience this weekend =D funny thing is i just showed the new gf the video of u getting air, and i told her how im modeling my jeep after urs, then we come in here and see this =p

Just dont buy Yukon shafts, I have broken three so far on some light wheeling trips.

well that sucks. Yukon gears are great... I wouldn't buy their shafts though. Can you switch to something else or are you locked in with Yukon because its their super 30? I mean, can you get some custom length 30 spline superior or AUSA or even use TJ d44 30spline shafts?

Yea atleast it broke there by the ears. Have you looked into the Superior Evols or the next best thing are the Birfield CV axles.

I will be going with superior next, we had a D44 shaft with us but it was about a 1/4 inch to long.
